Should've ended years ago. Sex scenes were fine but the story was absolute trash. I think the biggest contributor to that was the fact that Alfie was the worst goddamn character in her own story and never develops. She's a Complete Piece of Shit at the beginning of the story, continues being a Complete Piece of Shit through the middle of the story, and remains a Complete Piece of Shit at the end of the story. The only lesson she learns through it all is how to make being a Complete Piece of Shit profitable for herself.

If you make someone reading your slop say to themselves, "I wish the main character would get shot in the eye with an arrow and die forever so I can read about these other, far more interesting characters instead" then you've pretty much failed as an author.

It's not that Alfie isn't a good person, it's that she has no redeeming qualities. She undergoes no transformative journey, never develops, never expresses any positive traits (at least none that she isn't forced to express by others and then immediately drops). You have to be able to root for the MC in some form, to be able to connect with them, or the reader will not give a fuck about them.

Perfect example: Sterling Archer.

Archer is a Complete Piece of Shit. He is a loud, arrogant, lying, stubborn, selfish, womanizing, alcoholic braggart with commitment issues AND mommy issues. He's also charming. He's witty, and autistically good at his job, and his backstory is JUST sympathetic enough to explain his behavior without excusing it. He's an asshole to his friends, but regularly risks his life to protect them. Over the course of the series, he learns to appreciate them and even love them. He learns, in some small ways, how to be a better person.

So despite Archer being a Complete Piece of Shit, you can't help but like him. You want to root for him. You want him to succeed, and ultimately, be less of a dick. Alfie, on the other hand, is just a cunt. She's a cunt who continually does increasingly cunty things and digs herself ever-deeper into a cunt-hole to the point where you aren't thinking, "maybe this time she'll be less of a cunt." You aren't rooting for her. You don't want her to succeed, because her goals never advance beyond whatever cunty thing will benefit her in the moment. You just think, "She's terrible and I want her to go away."

Being able to see her pussy from time to time just isn't enough to redeem such a character.

The closest thing I can think of here is John Byrne's NextMen, a comic book that constantly refocuses itself on the supporting cast rather than the main team and to this day I'm not certain he did that for any reason other than creative burnout.
In this case given IC's newness to storytelling I'm not going to credit him with deliberately planning such a thing. I think he more likely succumbed to the trap many 2000s/2010s webcomics fell into where an artist believed enough interesting looking characters could be wound up like toys then their stories would tell themselves without a long-term plan in mind.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica actually did that: name the series after who is actually just a supporting character then in episode 12 remove all doubt the protagonist is Homura, but there's foreshadowing of this from the beginning, starting with the extent to which Madoka is the least interesting girl in the bunch. It's an actual, intentional, well-played subversion. Vera comes off more like IC's realization he painted himself into a corner with Alfie and Vera's the reader's consolation prize. This is the reason I got angry when IC started redrawing the earliest chapters of the story because the ART was never the problem.
