I never understood how this board didn't have a thread about it, especially given how the whole place went completely fucking bonkers when the man himself made an appearance to drop random requests in the first drawthreads ever.Anyway, Alfie is done.Little bit of a saccharine ending but hey, I'm not complaining. I will miss the tumblr-tier idiocy of the comments on his website, the flamewars when a goblin said "retarded" on camera, the genuinely engaging story, and yes, of course the smut too.If anything, it is a bit bittersweet to see the comic ending. But hey, you did good Incase, now enjoy your monthly 15k.I wonder if/when they will start to dry off without a master project to keep them going.---Alfie general I guess? It would be fun to discuss it with people other than the die-hard-rainbow-brigade of the website comment section.Incase general?
>>9151078>I never understood how this board didn't have a thread about itdidn't we?
>>9151350Not regularly? Maybe one even now and then, but either I missed them for years or it didn't really happen very often. For kind-of-a-staple of comic smut updating three times a week, I don't think even a permathread would have been out of place.
>>9151078Now for me to make my own half porn half story fantasy webcomicNow just to learn how to draw
>>9151443I meant a thread about it ending, I swear that happened a few months ago
>>9151480That's unlikely since it ended literally a few days ago. Sure, it has been a while since the last smut chapter, but I guess the comic as a while deserves a place anyway.
>>9151350We do >>9137266
>>9151078I’ll miss it. Alfie’s chapter 8 cowgirl was peak. Her riding Marco and Lydia flashing her tits was hot as fuck. And the threesome was cute. Femdom is goated.
>>9151078To be completely honest with you, Alfie was only interesting until she managed to bag the barely legal cutesy horned girl, because bagging cutesy girls is nice. However, it was fairly realistic in depicting what a car-crash an unhinged single girlboss ends up like. You turn into a junkyard goblin with trampstamps and rainbow hair.Alfie should have ended by being punched to death by orc pimps and doing crack, as all used up sacks of meat do.Incase really should stop trying to be a GLOBOTROON. He's polish, middle-aged, and fat. Being a glitzy sparkly GLOBOTROON is signifier of social status for horrendously rich trust-fund WASPS that have guards armed with machine guns guarding their gated mansions. Or a well-off white girl who hasn't hit the wall yet and is SUPER hot. ANYONE else should just fucking quit. It's like seeing a hood nigger in dirty Air Jordans. You haven't got it poornigger. Stop pretending. If Incase had any sense, he'd write urban fantasy with no forced diversity and forced faggification, and yes evil gay antigonists who are specifically evil because they are gay. Now THAT would be an intersting story to tell, because there is a lot to tell.>15 K a monthNigger, JIDF troons get that a week for shitposting here. Absolute goyslave nigger.
>>9152583meds.
>>9152583I had that impression as well, beside the sex scenes Alfie was a nice read then just kind just went bananas and I stop reading it halfway as I went "Where is this even going?" which I think this is the issue with these sort of artists when they wanna make a story but they also know their main audience are mainly gooners who view their art of a woman taking on a cock that the size of a fully grown man leg >"How can I make a interesting story while at the same time how can I hook the character up with my self-insert futa oc and ruin the entire character in a few scenes?"
>>9152758>my self-insert futa ocwait which character was it
>>9151078I already miss the cute goblins
>>9152088I must be thinking of something else then
>>9152772There wasn't one, he's just wishful thinking. There were a couple of one-off background characters with ambiguous gender presentation, but the whole thing was blessedly free of the futa shit he peddles elsewhere.
>>9152562> And the threesome was cute.Boy, the butthurt in the comments because of Lydia wanting to get dicked down by Marco was magnificent.Buttsmithy comment section was really something, the pearlclutching idiots in there never failed to entertain
>>9153859>but the whole thing was blessedly free of the futa shit he peddles elsewhere.IIRC he made the "Sorry guys there won't be futas in Alfie" point early on.Funny that the project that was closest to his heart, he kept free of that.
>>9151078More's the pity. No one else does such good wineglass-pelvis and accurate pussy. That mons work is a masterwork.
>>9153946Futa isn't my jam, but I admit the deer alien girls with dicks are easily the best-proportioned around.
>>9152758Honestly, that's where for me it went from looking it up for the smut, to be actually interested in Alfie as a character, because it was refreshing to see Incase actually making her a self deluded, self important, selfish piece of shit and having fun with it (Worst Girl indeed). If anything, that could have been going on longer and not be resolved with a single night of self-reflection, that was kind of s cop-out (but I understand wanting to wrap the whole thing up).I wouldn't go as far as >>9152583 's lunacy, but maybe a couple more elaborate sex chapters with Alfie hooking up with randos, over some time, as a cope for loneliness and social isolation and sure, getting a nut but ending up asking herself "That felt like nothing, what the fuck am I even doing and why". Maybe trying to push the envelope a little bit because "I know, a brand new thing like anal will get me going again!" (she definitely was immature like that, also pity Incase didn't go there with her) and then sobering up like "Nah, didn't work either".And THEN you put in the reconciliation, the good feelings, and the same exact epilogue.Too bad Incase would have never put anything but the funniest wholesomest sex in Alfie, so anything that would have made her anything but happy was an absolute impossibility (and I'm not talking about abuse or whatever, just some awkwardness and a bit of a sense of emptiness).
>>9153951I really liked his whole lore-dump about Puazi and how he went about them from a writing point of view.Sure you can disassemble the little safeguards he came up to try and defuse how "problematic" they are as a concept, but it is always interesting to see how the sausage gets made
>>9151480>>9152088The main story ended a few months ago, this was a followup that wrapped everything up.
>>9153956his whole hand thing was probably also a factor. It's gotta be demoralizing when a project is taking three times as long and extending it means adding years to something you're probably already kind of sick of. I will miss it though, I'm glad he finally got over the line
>>9151078Thanks for the Heads up ^_^Been checking occasionally for the Epilogue, but stopped after awhile, didn't know he had finished it.
>>9154214Well, my own theory on the Goblins proved wrong: I thought that the young ones were more prude and could focus on running society, and later went into their 'fertile' stage to make more children.Kind of sad that Alfie never found anyone for herself in the end (can kind of identify there I guess ^_^).Still saw how he snuck a couple of sex scenes into the epilogue, though; it just wouldn't be a InCase comic without someone fucking someone else ^_^Also, I've got to admit: Over the run of the entire comic, I'm glad he didn't overly indulge in the fetishes he draws outside of it (Futa, LadyBoy, Armpit, probably more I don't know of ^_^)I'm not kink shaming, its just not my cup of tea, and I probably would have missed out on an otherwise good comic. He should take a LONG rest now; maybe even put his next project on a Patreon or something (might as well make money off his effort, and I for one Thank him for sharing this entire comic for free ^_^).
>>9151078>Incase, now enjoy your monthly 15k.Wait....he's making that much from this project (I'm guessing a Patreon)?I'm not upset or anything; I'm glad he is somehow getting paid for all the hard work and literal pain, for a stretch there.
>>9151447Don't let not being able to draw stop you.So many people over at DA are using AI Slop generators, and seemingly making money off of it, maybe you should jump on the bandwagon.Besides, I know some people who do it the hard way by spending WAY too much money on the Daz Studio 3D program to make poor imitations of what he has seen, and is STILL too lazy to try to make a comic ^_^
>>9153946I do wonder why he decided to stay away from his usual fetishes with this comic. There was that one time with the 'goat people' when Marco got very close to being the Bottom for a Goat Boy, though
>>9154352>I do wonder why he decided to stay away from his usual fetishes with this comic.any ideas?
Should've ended years ago. Sex scenes were fine but the story was absolute trash. I think the biggest contributor to that was the fact that Alfie was the worst goddamn character in her own story and never develops. She's a Complete Piece of Shit at the beginning of the story, continues being a Complete Piece of Shit through the middle of the story, and remains a Complete Piece of Shit at the end of the story. The only lesson she learns through it all is how to make being a Complete Piece of Shit profitable for herself. If you make someone reading your slop say to themselves, "I wish the main character would get shot in the eye with an arrow and die forever so I can read about these other, far more interesting characters instead" then you've pretty much failed as an author.
>>9155038When he started Alfie he enjoyed drawing all kinds of sex and cheesecake but by the end he had the dickgirl disease. And I do mean disease, a guy like Dtiberius who started out doing nothing but famous characters as futa, he remained sane with a sense of humor about it. IC, he went out like MegaSweet flushing half or better of his fans down the toilet because he could no longer draw anything else.
>>9154345>I for one Thank him for sharing this entire comic for freeI honestly think that's the only sensible way to monetize shit on the internet. People are going to pirate it anyway and fighting it is a fool's errand. Publish your shit for free and give perks to those who chip in (like Incase did with the high-res files and all kind of audience participation in non-Alfie projects).>>9155038That's where it got interesting for me. I'm fully on the Alfie-is-a-piece-of-shit boat (and Incase never shied away from sharing that thought too), and oh boy the fights in the comments about who was in the right were really something. But on the other hand I never understood why people throw a fit when a MC is not a good person (both this anon going "Alfie is a PoS so the comic sucks" and the mouthbreathers on Incase's website going "Alfie is the MC so she must be good so what she is doing is right")
>>9155038> Alfie was the worst goddamn character in her own story and never developsBut she does, she's innocent enough to be nice in the very beginning, it's only past that she turns into a piece of shit.
>>9155142>I never understood why people throw a fit when a MC is not a good personIt's not that Alfie isn't a good person, it's that she has no redeeming qualities. She undergoes no transformative journey, never develops, never expresses any positive traits (at least none that she isn't forced to express by others and then immediately drops). You have to be able to root for the MC in some form, to be able to connect with them, or the reader will not give a fuck about them.Perfect example: Sterling Archer.Archer is a Complete Piece of Shit. He is a loud, arrogant, lying, stubborn, selfish, womanizing, alcoholic braggart with commitment issues AND mommy issues. He's also charming. He's witty, and autistically good at his job, and his backstory is JUST sympathetic enough to explain his behavior without excusing it. He's an asshole to his friends, but regularly risks his life to protect them. Over the course of the series, he learns to appreciate them and even love them. He learns, in some small ways, how to be a better person. So despite Archer being a Complete Piece of Shit, you can't help but like him. You want to root for him. You want him to succeed, and ultimately, be less of a dick. Alfie, on the other hand, is just a cunt. She's a cunt who continually does increasingly cunty things and digs herself ever-deeper into a cunt-hole to the point where you aren't thinking, "maybe this time she'll be less of a cunt." You aren't rooting for her. You don't want her to succeed, because her goals never advance beyond whatever cunty thing will benefit her in the moment. You just think, "She's terrible and I want her to go away."Being able to see her pussy from time to time just isn't enough to redeem such a character.
>>9155252It's Vera's story, it just happens to be named for her asshole daughter.
>sets out from Pickering at 23>epilogue is set 7 years laterAlfie doesn't even have the excuse of being young and dumb.
>>9155252All the other characters around her have arcs and character changes(aside from Melly who's still arguably the biggest piece of shit in the story but gets a pass because she's a minor character), but Alfie remains relatively unchanged. It reads like a bildungsroman, but in effect it's like the opposite. Young person goes out into the world and the world changes around them.
>>9155300>>9155314It's just frustrating. Literally every character in the story is more interesting and better developed than Alfie and yet Incase insisted on making her the focus. "Oh, did you want more of Vera's touching journey into finding love? Fuck you, here's Cunty McCuntbag poisoning the well for fifteen pages."
>>9155300That's actually a good point. One's story doesn't really work without the other's.>>9155314>>9155370All in all, I'm okay with the overarching story in its entirety and it closing on them having gained back a genuine connection despite fundamental differences. If anything, I only think he fast-tracked the conclusion after their confrontation, and that the story could have ended in the same plance but happen more gradually. But I get it, drawing hand going bad and 12-years-and-going, can't fault Incase for ending it quicker than it could have deserved.
>>9155314>but Alfie remains relatively unchanged. It reads like a bildungsroman, but in effect it's like the opposite. Young person goes out into the world and the world changes around them. The closest thing I can think of here is John Byrne's NextMen, a comic book that constantly refocuses itself on the supporting cast rather than the main team and to this day I'm not certain he did that for any reason other than creative burnout. In this case given IC's newness to storytelling I'm not going to credit him with deliberately planning such a thing. I think he more likely succumbed to the trap many 2000s/2010s webcomics fell into where an artist believed enough interesting looking characters could be wound up like toys then their stories would tell themselves without a long-term plan in mind.
>>9155582The thing I tell aspiring writers of any genre is that they're not the reader and they aren't entitled to approach the story from the same linear perspective the reader has. The idea that they ought to have a sense of the ending and the story's point from the beginning is a hard pill for many of them to swallow because they don't get to go on the same ride as the reader. To which I say, fuck you and your vibe coding fantasies, this is work.
>>9155300>It's Vera's story, it just happens to be named for her asshole daughter.Puella Magi Madoka Magica actually did that: name the series after who is actually just a supporting character then in episode 12 remove all doubt the protagonist is Homura, but there's foreshadowing of this from the beginning, starting with the extent to which Madoka is the least interesting girl in the bunch. It's an actual, intentional, well-played subversion. Vera comes off more like IC's realization he painted himself into a corner with Alfie and Vera's the reader's consolation prize. This is the reason I got angry when IC started redrawing the earliest chapters of the story because the ART was never the problem.
It was hot when it was a naive halfling girl experiencing lewd bisexual situations then it went full globohomo
>>9155607Either you commit to her being a fun brainless cumrag or you make her learn and change and InCase couldn't do either
>>9155607The snake city flashback arc was so fucking awful.I think Incase got influenced by the psycho commenters to ramp up the faggy globohomo aspects.
>>9151078calarts shitlolkys fag
>>9156646What an odd thing to say on a porn board
>>9156538>I think Incase got influenced by the psycho commenters to ramp up the faggy globohomo aspects. If he was influenced, it was by his coattailriding US wife, but "I want to be dicked down without ties or responsibilities" has been Alfie from page 1
If Incase isn’t going to give us any Alfie/Vera incest, I’ll just do it myself.
>>9155614I'm perfectly fine with the WHAT (Alfie and Vera–and all the other supporting characters too–coming to an understanding a building a mutual loving relationship, despite very different outlook on life), it's the HOW that was kinda rushed. On the other hand, 12 years is a long time to just keep going with no end in sight.
interesting discussion happening in a thread? unheard of
I wish there was enough time for the rat girl with the glasses to get a happy ending.
>>9156835Well? We're waiting.
>>9160899you're going to be waiting a long time
>>9151078>I never understood how this board didn't have a thread about itCause he stopped doing hot sex scenes and just focused on the story no one cared about.
Someone correct me with the details, but didn't Incase fuck up their wrist, then have a mental breakdown because their art style was effectively stolen by AI?Probably best it ended, as Incase's work was going majorly downhill in general. I hope they are able to start something fresh.
>>9163886I dunno about the mental breakdown, but he did have some significant wrist injury, yes. Also, InCase is male, and Polish, and married to another prolific artist, @alimonyart
Does Incase still produce work? I remember loving his art style many years ago, but I haven't kept up with the top smut comic artists these days. Anyone have some recommendations for recent works of his, or any newer artists that have filled the same niche?
The best thing about Alfie was everything/everyone except Alfie. I enjoyed it overall.
>>9164168He's recently shifted to short fiction with a few porn images, nowhere near the image output of what he did before.https://archiveofourown.org/users/InCase/pseuds/InCase/works
