What was the point of those “gifted classes” I was in as a child?

my gifted teacher literally broke it down for us as "you aren't here because you're smart, you're here because you tested well"

to organize and separate the autistics, ADD, etc. who could do well on tests into their own space because they'd just be low achieving losers in a normal class where there were bullies and jocks. this keeps their scores up so the school can buttress the go nowhere crack babies and illegals that flood public schools and earn them less funding
