I worked a 40 hour shift with a four hour nap in-between. And it was a busy 40 hour shift. I also have food poisoning. So I felt shitty the entire day. I have a huge zit on my chin which is embarrassing and my hair was all messed up.

So by hour 38 I was sluring my words kinda and in a bad mood. Is it likely people picked up on this? Two of my bosses said "dude, you look like shit. Just go home." I didn't full on start crying or anything.

Can I recover from this?

What kind of job put you in a situation to work a 40 hour shift but also has the capability to send you home early?

That's not too bad anon, you did OK considering. But take it as a strong hint that you have limits and that pushing them has consequences.
Being tired like that is a lot like being drunk. Slurred speech, disordered thoughts, poor coordination. It's dangerous, too. Never drive in that condition. I speak from experience here.
Get a bunch of rest and try to avoid being in this situation again in future.
