What you're asking is a big question, which cannot be answered in a few sentences.
I guess it's the first step to acknowledge that you're addicted to the internet. I found that clearly separating "work time" from "play time" to work for me.

Doesn't mean you need to live outside of the internet, but maybe it's time to consciously look for times when you are tempted to go into one of those binge sessions and consciously stop yourself. Staying off those websites that fuel your addiction might be helpful. In particular short video stuff like youtube shorts and tiktok seems to be optimized to be as addictive as possible.

Maybe google some official help sites for internet addiction. There's probably better advice for your situation.

>i'm 18
it's a good thing you woke up and realized you want to change at 18, some people, like me, are a lot older when they realize what they've been doing isn't really good for them

my advice is to get good grades and get into a good university, from there, focus on school but really take care of your social life, don't fall for the stoic/self improvement meme, it's just a cope

chase after girls, go out a lot, meet new friends
just live life like a normie, find a hobby/interest like sports, music, acting which helps you figure out your identity

as for youtube and spending a lot of time on your phone, you'll put it under control if you do other stuff, in the sense that you realize that watching them doesn't do anything for your goals, or, you could watch videos to learn about stuff you are currently working on

and also, don't be too hard on yourself because sometimes you just need to watch stupid videos to unwind and rest

take care

also, this is the age where you're bound to do stupid stuff, and waste a lot of time, so, if you just manage to stay out of jail and not get a girl pregnant you're on the right track

Just do what I’m about to do. I bought a Cat S22 filp, it’s an android flip phone. Following a reddit comment I downloaded an android ADB and deleted key apps like youtube, google, the browser, etc. I plan to delete the playstore app as well when I switch over from my iphone, effectively making the android into a dumbohone. still figuring out service provider info.

What I’m doing is a bit extreme, but it’s my belief that you don’t need social media or constant internet connection to live a good life. It’s also a way for me to get away from porn.
