The main problem is that people are representing their real life selves online, forums were much better in the past because at heart it was annoymous and only about the text in question, the text being a game, politics, hobby or whatever the talk was about, that's one reason the talk flowed so freely, but with these fucking real life avatars, no-ones going to say what they really feel let alone have fun. Eventually they forget what they really feel.Look up old forums with wayback machine and look at how everything is just more natural.
