>Everything that I say or do is judged harshly in the eyes of those around me
>Everything I say or do builds a certain perception that people hold of me
>When people have a certain image of me in their minds, it's incredibly difficult to shake that image if it's in a negative light
>However, if it's in a positive light, one wrong step can forever taint their image of me, making people want to completely disassociate from/alienate me entirely
And this is especially true of women, too.
How do you guys deal with this? Do you even care?

You can never control how people think. In fact, there are an infinite number of things that you can't control. The only thing you can control is what you do, and that's the only thing you should attach emotional value to.

I recommend reading Discourses by Epictetus. That dude definitely had social anxiety, and his specific brand of Stoicism tackles that.

Most people at least these days are derping phone staring idiots. You can present any image you want of yourself and they don’t care and will go along with it as long as it doesn’t go against their programming. They don’t question anything and they will just be like, aha ok, this is how it is now, I better play along. Sometimes it’s annoying but sometimes it’s fine, like I don’t have to worry about your problem anymore at all.

I could literally shit my pants at work, have it dripping down my leg, tell the others it is what it is getting old accidents happen and as long as I didn’t make a big deal out of it they wouldn’t either. I’m utterly convinced people just mirror your emotional state. If I didn’t seem worried or nervous they would just glimpse a little bit from behind their screen say yeah shit happens better clean up but if I was insecure about it, then they would think it’s something to be insecure about and pile on the mocking.

So takeaway, your mistakes only matter if you notice them and react to them in a way to make a big deal out of them. And conversely if you talk in an insecure way, like you are sorry for existing, people will truly feel like your existence and being around them is a nuisance.
