>tfw cybersecurity bachelors>tfw work as sys admin>hate it>hate my degree>hate my job>mfw have to do even more post degree studying and test taking for better jobsI just hate this fucking field i seriously have no clue why i even got this degree. Do i just go back to college for something else? should i get a shitty retail job or sales? Ive been working my sys admin job for 3 years and have total of 4 years exp. I live at home so no real expenses desu but yeah.. really stressed about what to do about career wise desu
>>32330482>i live at homei would fucking imagine so anon
>>32330482What's so awful about it and what do you get paid? Systems admin doesn't sound that bad.
>>32330482>Do i just go back to college for something else? should i get a shitty retail job or sales?do whatever you want but going back to college probably is not a good idea. you can just get another job at an office doing whatever bullshit with any degree. just start looking for a different thing. my only question to you is how different of a career do you even want?
>>32330575mainly the people i help are really just the worst and the work i do is extremely boring and uninteresting repetitive and meh..>>32330577hmm i guess im not sure i just feel like my degree is pretty useless
go to law school
>>32330731Is it really the field then or just your role? It's normal to outgrow your current duties and want more. Did you used to enjoy the work? If yes you likely just need new challenges to keep you interested.
>>32330482>study cybersecurity (le mr. reddit 1337 and all that)>end up working as a computer janitoris cybersecurity really dead? red team jobs are inaccessible for a fresh college grad and everything else is just scam consultancy firms at least in my country>t. graduating in cybersecurity soon
I would find another job and make the start date a month or 2 down the road. If you still don't want to go back to work after that, then find something else. Otherwise, you are just being a bitch. Take some risks maybe, your life sounds boring
>>32333577It's not dead, just competitive. Cybersec is not supposed to be a field for fresh college grads. You just have to grind for certs, not be a retard, and earn the trust of a company, either by knowing someone, having good experience + education, or being there for a long time. Sysadmin is just a step below cybersec.
