bros, how do I learn Spanish on B2 level ASAP? I have time till june...after that I'm cooked. Life or death matter
Read Spanish booksWatch Spanish seriesListen to Spanish musicDo that everyday and you''ll be fluent in 6 months
>>32544640immerse yourself in the language as much as possible by watching, reading listening to spanish media. watching/listening is more effective if you can see the mouth move tooI fail to see how this is that serious, life or death are you in with the cartels or something?
hey native spanish speaker here and i understand the pain of learning spanish. its not only a language, but also a beautiful culture associated with the phrases and fun tonne (for latin americans like me at least). try to watch some shows in spanish or in subtitles to get yourself immersed on how latinos/hispanics say their words. remember, mexican spanish isnt the same as dominican spanish!! also, no need to pick up on the accent just yet, once you talk to native spanish speakers, they will understand that you are a beginner and want to improve. we are genrally kind and accepting people. but sadly we have a bit of a stereotype, so please excuse that.what i do not recommend is to learn spaniard spanish fully. the classical spanish is only used in that country, and even Argentian spanish is a bit different yet similar. so try your best anon, i believe in u

>>32544640Hey anon, linguist here. I've learned a lot of languages so I'm pretty well versed in how the process works. Can you give me any more information on why you need to learn the language or how you'll be using it?
>>32544640If your life depends on learning a third tier language like Spanish you should kill yourself
>>32544640
bruhhhh 6 months???? b2 should take 2 at best. Flashcards everyday, intuitive leaening, media. No english captions. It's close enough to english that you will absolutely pick it up as u build vocab and conversations skills. B2 doesnt even get to the weird linguistic shit that spanish has goin on. jus chill take your time amd do all that for at least 2hrs a day ezpz.
>>32544640Sup anon here are my tips. I highly recommend this book:>https://www.amazon.com/Madrigals-Magic-Key-Spanish-Creative/dp/0385410956>https://archive.org/details/madrigals-magic-key-to-spanish_202310/mode/2upI've read many other books and used apps and computer programs like DuoLingo or Rosetta, etc., but they were all boring or microtransaction-tier jewish dog shit. The linked book is all you need to understand the logic behind the language. With this book alone, you can master reading and writing comprehension as well as some speaking skills. However, to really improve your speaking ability, I recommend using a microphone and headphones to hear yourself as others would. Practice saying words slowly, focusing on mouth and tongue position rather than just forcing them out. When I started, I would read out loud without fully understanding what I was saying—just listening to myself and making adjustments until I began to sound more natural. You don’t always need a mic or headset for this. You can also cup your hands around your ears (like in the picture) to absorb vibrations in your skull and block noise from your mouth that isn’t an echo. This helps you hear yourself as others do. I used this method to learn how to sing, among other vocal exercises. Admittedly, you might look a bit silly doing it.>cont.
>>32552588In my opinion, the biggest hurdle is listening comprehension. Sometimes, native speakers talk so god damn fast that it feels impossible to keep up. For a long time, I couldn’t understand spoken Spanish well... my listening comprehension suffered. I could speak at an intermediate level, but as soon as someone responded to me, I was fucked. I could barely follow podcasts or the news because they enunciate more clearly and tend to speak more formally. I finally found a method from a language youtuber that worked great for me. Here's the link:>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8FACVD9vz4Tl;dw is he printed out official transcripts from Ted Talk videos (because they are edited for accuracy) and followed along reading them whilst listening and stopping to rewind until he understood every word/phrase... and eventually the entire Ted Talk. Then he did it again & again.>Learning the language in 44 days is possible I might add, but as the titile suggests you will be at it for 8 hours a day, every day... Nobody has time for that. I recommend the method however... works great. Also, download HelloTalk. It's an app that works similar to FB messenger, but its core function is to introduce foreign language learners together so that real people can help each other learn. You'll find a lot of very friendly third worlders on there that only want free English lessons though, so be sure to be clear up front that it's 50/50.
thanks a lot guys, I knew I could count on you, you're the best!>>32549348>>32551147I cant say it right now, if I speak Im in big trouble>>32552588>>32552590You seem very knowledgeable. I got this book, its indeed very good. thanks!
>>32556146>if I speak Im in big troublethat's cap, I accuse you of capping
>>32546688>>32548832>>32549317>>32552588>>32552590Most of the tips here are pretty good anon, I personally second the HelloTalk recommendation. Really though, if immersion is not possible beforehand then just learn as much vocab as you can via flashcards, learn the basics of grammar (a few word orderings really make up 80-90% of the useful shit), and spam shows/music/movies in spanish. If you genuinely don't understand anything, just keep watching kids shows until you understand 99% of it. It'll seem daunting at first but a lot can be figured out in just a month.
>>32558653what are the best shows with Spanish and where can I watch them?I only know about the heist show
>>32549348>>32551147>>32552027So many Duolingo posts
>>32560894is duolingo overhated or overrated?
>>32564106doing like 30 minutes per day of duolingo alone wont be enough to make you fluent in a language, or even really "conversational" in it. you will still be stuck thinking in english and trying to translate sentences in your head. you have to read and listen and form the sentences yourself, without the word blocks there to guide you, before you really start to grasp the concept of a foreign syntax. i would strongly recommend reading like short stories or like a easy books in a foreign language, or watch like childrens show that dont have a complex story line to really help you understand the language better than relying on duolingo slowly exposing you to concepts while you forget the other ones you worked on a week ago.
>>32564120ah, thanks. I use duolingo mostly for routine and streak, got 85 days rnneed to up the ante with learning spanish
>>32564106"gamification" is the 21st century "edutainment." they succeed at neither education or a real game progression system.

>>32560388My bad, left this thread a few days ago op. Sololatino(.)net is a good one for popular shows that have spanish dubs. I recommend starting with bluey or some other kids show to start and work your way up. The site has an option to watch the shows at slower speeds if you're having trouble comprehending.
