Therapy is a scam right?
Not really. Having someone to talk to will improve your mental health. You can get good therapy from talking to close friends or family members, but a lot of people don't have those things and have to pay for mental health. That sucks. The truth is that it doesn't take a lot to be a good therapist. You sit there and ask some open ended questions, let the client talk. This will help relieve their stress and let them work through things. The key is making an environment that feels secure to talk about stressful stuff.
>>32564135It's just a racket for the jews
>>32564157>Not really. Having someone to talk to will improve your mental health.I just don't think a normal therapist is going to have much input or be able to relate to the things i would want to talk about.
It doesn’t work for everyone but it doesn’t hurt to try. I think a big part of it that a lot of people don’t realize is that you have to find a therapist who you can relate to. Someone who makes you feel comfortable. My first therapist was a middle aged, Christian, Asian American mother who I never fully felt comfortable talking to about all my teenage angst at the the time. But my current therapist is a younger woman who’s been through and dealt with a lot of similar things to me. It creates a deeper understanding and makes it easier to fully let everything out. It does fucking suck trying to find one who you like AND who takes your insurance but if it’s something you think is going to benefit you there’s no harm in trying.
Gotta find the right therapist. One who can speak to you in your own terms that isn't a sycophantic kissass.
I've had thoughts of dying since as long as I can remember. I've never acted on it or done anything to harm myself or others. I recently found out my grandfather killed himself. I never met him and this was a few years before I was born. It's just something I live with. I'm really good at making others laugh and listen to them. I imagine everyone is struggling I don't need to be another unessicary strain on the health system especially with mental health being in such high demand.
>>32564135Yeah. You're literally just paying to talk to somebody. Try Character.AI instead, you can even put it in call mode and talk to it like it's a regular person
>>32564135Even considering therapy implies that something in your life is not as good as you want.Fixing what's wrong implies change.Change can be scary. An instinctive (but not healthy) reaction is to resist change.Resisting a therapist pretty much guarantees failure Therapy can me immensely, life-changingly beneficial, but ONLY if you open yourself up to change.
>>32564135>Therapy is a scam right? It depends on what the goal of the therapy is. If a doctor prescribes you ay mood-altering substances WITHOUT doing so in parallel it can be really dangerous to take them without also taking the therapy in parallel because that allows them (and you) to find any warning signs of potentially dangerous side effects developing.Therapy for EMOTIONAL DAMAGE or self esteem issues is otherwise bunk in most cases. I've only had success or heard of others having success with it if the goal was to use group therapy as mediation between people in a relationship conflict.
>>32564135Depends how intelligent you are
>>32564135I find chatGPT to give more useful advice desuAlso this >>32565040
>>32564135I think talking to anyone is really good for your mental health, anon. Be it for short or long term benefit. While i’ve never had a therapist, I've had counselling and it taught and gave me a lot. Try it out, as others have said it doesn't hurt to try.
Does anyone with an iq over 90 get meaningful discussion out of chatgpt? Some retard was going on about how great it is for everything, so I asked it 1 question and it was confidentially wrong
>>32564135every person I've seen saying that was completely closed to be helped or had serious mental barriers to go through all the wayso yeah, therapy is helpful but the people who don't want to be helped for a reason or other, are too stubborn or are too far gone can't.so there is that, it's not a magic bullet and it's not useful for the cases that need them the most so it's still a developing thing I guess.
I went to therapy once and it made things worse. So yeah, probably.
>>32565276>>32567008If ChatGPT gives you meaningful advice I seriously think you actually might be an NPC
I've only seen the typical carbon copy CBT focused therapists. I've never found a therapist that knows how to deal with personality disorders or applies different types of therapy like schema therapy. It's just the same garbage every time in my experience. It's probably because generic CBT works for most people but not mentally ill people with personality disorders. I don't know where to go
>>32570132most people you can get in touch easily study up to the point where they can help the most people without it being a sunk cost in terms of time and money invested so yeah, few therapists specialized in serious cases because those are a minority and most get commited against their will or something, almost never go by their own will to get helpyou might have to go to a clinic or something if you want help with serious problems
>>32564135Yes, women and normies will shill you on that because they want you to be a good little productive member (goyim cattle) of their little jewified society.
As for therapists themselves, they're usually trying their best with what they got.Psychology majors, on the other hand, those are scams, every single one of them. They say the people who graduate from them will be able to heal people with what they teach to then teach the same old generic bullshit that generalizes people and is only effective to a very normie subset of the population.
>>32570191If Jews propose therapy, Nazis propose sending everyone who isn't a normie to be killed in gas chambers. Dunno, I'd rather go for the Jews' approach than see actual cool sperglords be killed by an uniball closeted faggot.
it depends on the therapist and if they're actually qualified to work there. one of my old therapists said I'd be a great one for children so idk what to think. getting stuff off your chest helps and talking it out really helps, especially if you two click. i'm poor so i qualify for gubmit paying to go though. this one guy I used to know thinks everyone should try out therapy atleast once in their lives. many suffer in silence.
