How do you clean one of those sticks you use to unblock the toilet? If I flush on it with the lid open, won't droplets of dirty water spray everywhere? This is my first time on this board, sorry if I'm missing any etiquette.

I did it. Whilst I flushed away the dirty water, I had to take the stick out. I just held it over something so that it wouldn't drip on the floor (I did make sure to try and dry it first though)Then I cleaned it in the clean water.

>>32567026Follow this simple 16 step process.Instructions:1. Flush toilet (result is no poo water, but toilet is still dirty from not being cleaned for a while)2. Get this stuff (or equivalent for whatever your country is). Picrel.3. Sprinkle generously into toilet bowl.4. Get rubber gloves and put them on.5. Grasp brush thingy FIRMLY by the handle.6. Scrub toilet bowl thoroughly with brush thingy. Result is that bowl surface I'll be cleaned while water will be dirty.7. If afraid of splashing, close lid on handle of brush and flush toilet.8. Open lid and inspect. If necessary or desired, go back to step 3 and clean again.9. When sufficiently clean, swish the brush around in the now clean water to get of any remaining dirt.10. Lift brush up so the actual brush part is above the center of the bowl.11. Bring down the brush with some force. The handle will hit the rim of the bowl. Due to Newton's 1st Law and Conservation of momentum, excess loose water on the brush will fall into the bowl.12. Now place the brush in the brush holder to dry.13. Flush toilet one last time.14. Remove gloves.15. Wash hands.16. Go do something else.Note that the first and/or second cleaning cycle cleaned the bowl. Follow-on cycle cleaned the brush itself. Thus, if you follow this process, there is absolutely no need to clean the brush separately.
