I wanna make friends. Which games are the best to make friends? I don’t want online friends, I wanna actually meet people irl.

Final Fantasy online maybe? People connect pretty well there. Takes time and effort. Idk.

Municipal parks and rec coed kickball league. They have multiple sports year around, some indoors.
Public Library monthly board/card game night two blocks from the uni so its 50/50 families and college age kids.
Church single young adult activity nights. You do live in a city large enough to have more than one church, right anon? So no claiming you went to precisely one and it sucked.
My gym is starting its basketball tournament as it does every year. Its a big enough gym that we can put up aroung half a dozen 5on5 sized teams. They play coed softball in the backyard in the summer.
If you "must" play games you might be limited. Ther are other activities.
If you live in an area that sucks, you'll have to move. There's a boomer suburb near me where the average age of residents is 75. Its not a retirement community its just turbo boomer, everyone leaves teh moment they turn 18. If you live in a city with a uni, or better, multiple uni, you'll have better luck meeting single people just in general.

Basically any bg, especially if it involves roleplay and social deduction.
I met her on a local boardgame fair (pretty big fair). I booked a "surprise game", basically they give you a specific time and you sit and play with people you don't know. It was a coop game, our team won, we talked a bit after, she had to go back home (she is younger than me). I asked her if I could have her number and she said yes. Next week we went out, two weeks later we fucked, two months later was "I love you", three years after that we married

Fighting games tend to have a good local scene in big cities. Card games (e.g. Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, etc). Chess clubs. D&D nights are often held by some venues.
