I was in round one with a friend today and as we were getting our food some random lady with her son stole my mini backpack! It was the first time I ever got robbed and it was a really stressful situation. We filed a police report and everything we had to do. I'm just still shakened about it and wanted to vent somewhere. What's the best course of action? I looked up to find the mini backpack is either rare or not that easy to replace...and I'd like the original back because it was a really sentimental gift. (With all my stuff in it but hey who can say)
>>32593283The best course of action is to realize that it was a gross invasion of your privacy, but a reality of life. I hope you weren't too attached because the likelihood of getting it back is very low. I'm sorry you had a traumatic experience, I remember the first time I got robbed, and I've been jumped and mugged a few times. It's not fun. But you'll be okay.
>>32593283you weren't robbed, what happened was theft, not robbery. Robbery is theft with force or the threat of force. If the kid had pointed a gun at you and demanded the backpack, or had punched you in the face then ran off with the backpack it would have been robbery. But him just taking the backpack when you weren't paying attention is "merely" theft. The punishments for robbery are much higher than theft, because it's considered a more dangerous breach of the peace.
Robbery thievery whatever..point is my bags done. Thank you for the first comment for understanding just fine without the use of the correct words. I'll try and be more better at what I write. Sorry it's my first time posting here
>>32593283It feels violating but you've done all you really can
Were you in any position to chase after them?
>>32593307Hmm. Now I’ll have no use for that word in my daily life. Thanks.>>32593283Are you a robot learning racism? I cannot help but wonder, when a parent is working with their child in crime, they must be at least Irish or something worse.
>>32593283Check out nearby rubbish bins, bushes, etc. Typical practice is to quickly take out what is pawnable and throw away the rest
>>32593283>What's the best course of action?Already done. Chances are you get nothing because life sucks that way.
>>32594587That’s a good one. In the US, near bigger cities, stuff often ends up at Mexican swap meets.>>32593283If you find it there, You’d just threaten to call the cops and they don’t want trouble and will just give it.
