College is suddenly very overwhelming and I'm considering dropping out, need advice.

So I started college right after high school and I chose to study a foreign language, specifically french, it seemed like a straightforward thing to study.
The first year was alright, I was taught introductory stuff, with some effort I was able to keep up.
But now that I started the second year, everything has been cranked up by 100, all my courses are taught in french, I'm expected to understand, classes are mandatory to attend so I just sit there like a retard because I'm nowhere near the level of being able to understand and converse that smoothly.
I went through the entire semester basically learning nothing, I haven't been able to self teach at home too much because I work part time as well, my exam session is in a week and no way in hell could I catch up even if I dedicated 12 hours a day to it, which I can't anyways because of work.

Should I just give up?

Have you asked for help at the college? Have you spoke with a study counsellor? Have you requested extensions? What have you tried so far? What have you done?
>>
what does your typical studying schedule look like for a week, including office hours?

I have some private lessons in the weekends with a tutor, they help me, but it's impossible to sum up everything I need to learn in just 2 hours a week.

The date of the exams as well as the general schedule is set in stone, can't do much about it.

I'm pretty much busy from 8am to 8pm all week expect weekends and wednesdays

ok so assuming 8 hours necessary for sleep how much of those extra 4 hours a day are going towards studying and how many on wed/sat/sun (outside of the tutoring)

So you've not asked for extra support from the people who have the ability to grant it you.

2 if I have homework, 1 hour of revision usually.

On wednesday I mostly do work that was put together by my tutor, or homework if I have any, that takes like 3 hours (I still work on wednesdays tho, I just don't have courses that I need to physically attend.)

Saturday is tutoring, 1 hour I revise, 2 hours is the tutoring itself, and the hour after I go over what I was taught.

I don't do anything on sundays.

Yes I admit I'm not really giving it my all, but I don't want to end up with a serious burn out.

I don't get what you mean, who exactly has the ability to grant me extra support?

>help at the college
There's nothing I could ask that they'd have a solution for

>study counselor
Doesn't exist

>extensions
Not a service they provide

Switch majors to something easier and with better job prospects. No matter how much you study a foreign language you will never be a good as someone bilingual from birth.
