I want to learn how to draw/animate but I'm too afraid of failure and afraid that the content I'll upload online would be deem "cringe" to random viewers. No, I won't be drawing porn or anything like that. I had this same feeling when I used to upload YouTube videos, I hated them, and despite decent views and hours of hard work, I ended up deleting them anyway.Surly this is something else entirely, like too much thinking or something? Do creators often hate their work despite others seeing it as masterpieces? Help adv.
>>32597456Does Steven Seagal ever worry about that?
>>32597456>I want to learn how to draw/animate Don't be a Howie and just do it.>Do creators often hate their work despite others seeing it as masterpieces?Creators are often the most critical of their own works.
>>32597456Art is often something personal. You just have to do it. Post it if you want - but you will never get better unless you are actively doing it.
>>32597456>Do creators often hate their work despite others seeing it as masterpieces? It's not uncommon. Look up impostor syndrome.
You don't have to post things online. I have thousands of patterns that nobody but my girlfriend has ever seen.
>>32600120Well, that's the thing. I plan on making an animated series and I was thinking of turning this little hobby of mine into a career (in the event it actually goes well)
>>32597456so what are you making OP?
>>32600559I was thinking of making animations based on the games and movies I watch, an animation series (won't reveal it here but think of SuperJail's rough artstyle mixed with the plot of a guy, animal, or whatever, being accidentally sent to hell via satanic ritual, it's gonna be edgelord Newgrounds level shit but I'll make sure the animation will make it worth watching). I have a lot of ideas and I can easily imagine it in my head, the problem is putting that idea on paper.
>but I'm too afraid of failure and afraid that the content I'll upload online would be deem "cringe"You know, I would advise you to overcome your fear and start at least just drawing when you learn and are confident that you are ready to post your creativity. >Surly this is something else entirely, like too much thinking or something? I’ll say yes, because I myself don’t like my work and I burn out from it. I hope that you will do what you like, good luck
>>32600629sounds interesting and i appreciate you trying to revive the newgrounds-era of internet creations but i'll be honest im so burnt out that even if i really liked it i probably wouldnt follow through on watching and i think most people are too so in the end just do it for yourself and if you get an audience thats a bonus. most probable scenario is even if its good it'll be hard for people to find it on the new hellscape of internet video platforms, you will have to shill a lot. i release music into the youtube void and im lucky to get 100 hits in 2 years, and out of those views, maybe one 'nice job' comment. but i also dont shill or network or promote in any way.
>>32600699>i probably wouldnt follow through on watching and i think most people are too so in the end just do it for yourself and if you get an audience thats a bonus.I understand. My end goal of all this IS to gain a following after all. So even if I get, like, 500 subscribers, mission accomplished. I wish I was around during the wild west of the internet. I mean, I was, but I didn't have the opportunity to make something out of it. I was young, like 12 years old.
