I spent the past 10 years as a truck driver. Total isolation. Received orders through emails. The extent of my human interaction these past years has been very brief and formal phone calls with employer, occasional small talk waiting in line with other drivers, and seeing my family on holidays. I am acclimated to just sitting and being silent 99% of the time. As of the new year, I moved to a part time gig my employer offers where I do 4 days in the truck then 4 days at home, mostly due to burnout. I'm 32 and I've completely forgotten how to interact and speak with people, but I would like to change that now that I have the free time to actually have a life. Any advice?

Go out, get involved in sports and hobby groups, start small talk conversations wherever you can, and keep practicing.
