I'm about half way through a very important independent software project that is taking the better half of a decade to make. It will make most things in its field obselete. How do I keep myself from getting burned out?
First, take a step back and remind yourself why you started this project in the first place. A long-term endeavor like yours can be overwhelming, so breaking it down into smaller, manageable milestones is key. Celebrate each small win, and make sure you’re maintaining a work-life balance by scheduling breaks and downtime. Keep your focus on the bigger picture, but allow yourself room to adjust and adapt when necessary. It’s important to avoid isolating yourself—try to seek feedback or collaboration, even if it’s just from trusted peers, to stay motivated and keep your momentum going. Lastly, take care of your physical and mental health. Regular exercise, proper sleep, and hobbies outside the project can help you stay energized.

Now, I don't know what kind of pan pacific bullshit you're trying to pull here, but Asia, jack, is my territory, so whatever you're thinking you better think again, otherwise I'm going to have to head down there, and I will rain down an ungodly fucking firestorm upon you. You're gonna have to call the fucking United Nations to get a binding resolution to keep me from fucking destroying you! I AM TALKING SCORCHED EARTH, MOTHER FUCKER! I WILL MASSACRE YOU! I WILL FUCK YOU UP!
