What am I supposed to do if movies are my passion, but I can't just get a job as a Hollywood director?
>>
It’s great that you have a passion for movies, and while becoming a Hollywood director might take time and a lot of effort, there are other ways to get started in the industry. Try creating your own projects, even if they’re small—short films, YouTube videos, or independent productions. Build a portfolio that showcases your talent, and use social media or online platforms to get noticed. You can also start networking by attending film festivals, joining filmmaking groups, or collaborating with others. It’s a long journey, but focusing on gaining experience and making connections will help you get closer to your dream. Keep creating and pushing forward!

Get a video recorder and make some simple home movies so you can shove it in the big-time directors face.

Anything related to movies

Watch them. Discuss them. Critique them. Maybe work on them another way either as an actor or a prop designer or a lights/sound guy.

Look at the credits of your favorite movie and see how many other roles there are besides director!

Chatgpt response but it's good advice. You can understand why people don't want to type out stuff you could have looked up yourself.

Unironically upload them to jewtube. Tons of fanmade stuff gets tons of views if it's somewhat above average. Just pump it with lots of sovl and get a shout out by some normalfag-appealing streamer and boom, you're jewtube famous.

It's a difficult career to have because it isn't a needed trade. Grunt work is needed, lucrative is not. It's not so much if you can entertain, it's that can you in some way profit or bring people in. As much as I hate bringing this up because the guy is negative, Andrew Tate said it best, you go to where a need is and profit off of it.

Sounds like the origin story of every critic of any artform in existence. Have you considered becoming a professional bitch?

same bruh. but forget that dream. hollywood is dead and gone. everyone's on strike and after that we got AI and outsourcing to deal with and after all that you're still only making woke propaganda for china now. in my day, the dream was hard but possible one day. now only trades exist.
But on the other hand, since AI is now so powerful that its putting people out of jobs, use it to make your own movies at no real cost

The George Lucas Route - go to film school and make impressive student films
The Steven Spielberg Route - Make your own home movies and impress people with them
The John Cassavetes Route - use money from your day job to finance your films

Be like Kevin Smith. Max out your credit cards and make your own critically successful movie.

It's time to buy a shitty camera and accept mediocrity! Welcome to indie film making
