There is a game I want to play but my CPU is 12 years old and the only part I need to upgrade which cascades into needing to upgrade the mobo, RAM, and probably PSU. The game is currently unplayable. 10 20 fps with freezing during team fights.

I'm at the age where gaming is a huge waste of time but I would stream the game since it's so popular it'd be easier to build a following.

At this point should I just build a new computer?

Money is no object but I don't want to consume. But I haven't felt this excited in a long time. For reference, I was vacationing EU and SEA a few months ago and I wasn't even this excited.

Just feels like something I'm more excited about wanting to do than having done it. The chase is more thrilling essentially.

If you make it look anything like this image I will personally come to your house and bend the socket pins while your eyelids are glued open with thermal paste.

Give us the specs and I will see what the minimal needed changes are. I seriously doubt you need to replace the ram or the psu.

I do. I only have 8 gb of RAM. And it's ddr3. My cpu is 3570k. 5700XT

Money's not the issue. It's just the feeling of consuming and wasting time playing video games

Glad to see I'm not the only one who gets super excited about upgrading a gaming PC that I don't actually use

If you have money and you want it, go for it. Don't let someone else's potential perception of how you spend your money or time affect what you want to do.

Look at minimum specs for that game and look up how much that would cost/ if u'd need to replace your psu. Btw you can buy a used gtx1660super, and a Ryzen 5 + have 16Go of ram and be good for basically any game. Also go on userbenchmarch to compare performance

please say it's not marvel rivals lmfao

Why not? personally, I bought a rtx 3060 amidst all this talk of trump tariffs and AI chip exclusion to certain countries outside of US. I wouldve had to upgrade/replace my dying 1050ti to prepare for when it finally kicks the bucket anyway and I might've just ended up paying way more than I should if I bought later. If there's still time and the tariffs weren't implemented, I'd do the same and just buy, this will likely result in consumers paying more for everything
