anybody have experience signing independent contractor contracts for jobs. really need this job but dont want to get fucked over and be forced to pay them out if i quit or get fired.
>>32603507Don't offer yourself on the market if you don't plan to deliver
>>32603646how would that even apply in this scenario? i havent took the job yet, its gig work and if i dont make all 20 dates over the next year i owe them all flights and lodging
>>32603654That stinks.
>>32603734yeah but im kinda desperate for cash
>>32603507op here anyone know contract law? lmao
>>32603507guess im fucked
>>32604479You have to live up to the terms of the contract. In the situation you mentioned, make sure any repayment is for leaving on your own. If they decide they don't need you anymore, you should not have to pay them.
>>32603507might just say fuck it and go for it but im have until tmr to do it. might get revoked beforei can sign it
took some ampehtmamines and signed an employment contract i was on the fence about. not sure what do or how i feel about it. stIll havent had the meds ware off. have been in a shut in ocd state for over a month so i dont feel i was in a good state of mind to make major decisions. what should i do?
How the fuck can I give you advice about your contract, if you haven't included your contract or even any details about it?
>>32607484nigga i cant put the full contract out on here.
>>32607484doesnt matter now i already signed the stupid fucking thing. i dont even know why i did it. im 100 percent fucked now no matter how i react. either look like a complete freak and back out or torture myself
>>32607508Why not? And why can't you put the relevant sections up at least? >>32607514Then why did you post this post if you didn't want actual help.
>>32607528i did but it took too long and im fucking out of my mind.the deadline to sing was today . took amphetamines to wake me up and it made me to impuslive/ i can maybe quote it
>>32607528just got this email">Thank you for sending everything back and welcome to the team. >We will be in touch soon with a group team text message as Show number 1 gets closer. >>32603507>>32607528heres the contract parts that effect me>5. BREACH. help
>>32607774>Updatemy main concern is getting and emial send fast enough that they dont buyt the ticketsbut also doing it tactfully enough where they dont try to send me a bill to fuck me for wasting their time.
>>32607528dude where the fuck are you
please fucking help
im running out of time please help me
>>32607780Yeah, I think you're screwed. Basically you have to pay them if you breach the contract (leave) or if they terminate you.
>>32609821to add... if they don't incur expenses, you don't have to pay. If you gave them 7 days notice of notice of quitting, they have 7 days to send you an invoice. Maybe, just maybe, it takes more than 7 days to send an invoice.
>>32609821do you think if i leave before they buy the flights ill be ok. im not sure how i approach this. i want to coyly ask if they bought the flights but i dont want retaliation for it
>>32609821like even if im forced to stay its like 60 days of work this year around a small group of people doing high paced work when i dont even want to do it. plus i gotta fly around the country twice a month. im gonna kill myself
bump
my thing is i could outright ask if its too late to back out but if it is im fucked in multiple ways. or i could beat around the bus to try to find out if certain things have been purchased no/ or am i misunderstanding the contract?
I don't think you want a job where you have the constant worry that your employer is waiting to screw you over
>>32610920how do i get out of this?
>>32610951Don't sign the contract.
>>32610956i already did
>>32610958Then hope they don't enforce it to the letter. It costs them money to enact legal action and they will probably realize the legal costs are greater than the value of what they want from you. They will however use the contract to bully and scare you into doing what they want.
>>32603507You learned a valuable lesson, anon. You signed a contract as an independent contractor, but you let the other party write the contract! They are an employer offering a job; you should be an employee of theirs. They did it this way to exploit inexperienced and desperate people like you. You've learned a valuable lesson.
