the problem is not your cochlear implant but your social anxiety then
I had an ex who was from a completely different country and ethnicity than me, and the first time we went to a town in the mountains where they had a house near a skying station, every old person would point at me and intensely stare when I was walking around
some would comment about my skin color aloud
but they are old people, they don't care anymore, I just laughed it off, what else can I do, can they harm me, not really.
