As the title says
To start playing guitar, focus on these basics:1. **Learn the parts of the guitar**: Familiarize yourself with the body, neck, strings, and frets.2. **Get the right posture**: Sit comfortably with the guitar resting on your lap. Keep your back straight and your left hand positioned on the neck.3. **Learn basic chords**: Start with simple open chords like C, G, D, and E minor. These form the foundation of many songs.4. **Practice strumming**: Use your right hand to strum across the strings. Try downstrokes and upstrokes to get a feel for rhythm.5. **Practice finger placement**: Place your fingers just behind the frets (not directly on them) and press down firmly.6. **Build finger strength and dexterity**: Simple exercises like chromatic scales or just switching between chords will help.7. **Start with simple songs**: Look for easy songs that use basic chords, like "Horse with No Name" or "Knockin' on Heaven's Door."Consistency is key. Practice regularly and take it slow to build muscle memory and confidence. Keep enjoying the process!
jam along with your favorite songs. i guarantee most of them can be played via power chords. do this until your fingers no longer hurt. then learn the actual chord shapes to play the same songs. most people give up around here, but if you can figure out the rhythm part with the strumming hand and you can figure out how they're doing arpeggiated plucky type riffs (metallica - fade to black), there isn't much popular stuff you couldn't play.
>>32604821Do what the AI said, also look for online or youtube courses, there's TONs of information there. Also, please, train your musical ear. Play without any guides, literally play, as if it were a game. Try to come up with melodies, songs or even chords. Listen to stuff and try replicating the sounds, the melodies.Music is a beautiful thing.
>>32604837total GPTnigger death
>>32604821first off, it'll hurt your hands if you're a nerd. so squeeze the strings and play it till they dont hurt anymore.and then use chatgpt, songsterr, and AI tools that make it far easier to learn and do than when I started to the point that it is just pathetic if you cant figure it out now, and justinguitar, and be born with talent for melodies like i was or give it up in a month like every other normalfag as the rest of your new years resolutions and take up being a button jockey DJ instead

Nta but I also want to learn the guitar. I did a bit of violin when I was a kid so I already know music theory. Should I take lessons from a teacher? or can I just buy a guitar and practice alone? I don't want to pick up bad habits.
>>32604921oh and also learn tab
>>32604977Can you afford a teacher? >yesDo it>noLearn on your own then. The bad habits are inevitable, but do it anyway. Anything else is just overthinking/perfecionism
>>32604821Study as much as you practice. Otherwise you'll end up a chump who can only play tabs without the ability to improvise or play with a band. t. chump
I feel like I'm too stupid to pick up guitar
