Should I drop my college classes and go backpack around south America indefinitely instead?

Long story short I’m 25 military vet going to college on that gi bill, was super motivated to get a job and get good grades and spent most of last year studying and networking aggressively to set myself up. Im slated to graduate in December and I have a few job interviews coming up in the next couple weeks/months

Then over Christmas break I spent 3 weeks in South America backpacking and for a brief moment I felt what it was like to not be depressed
All of a sudden I don’t give a single fuck about my job or college anymore. I’ve been back here for 5 days and want to actually kill myself I hate it so much here.
I have about $100k saved up rn from the military and working while in college so you think I should just withdrawal it all from my portfolio, drop my classes, break my lease and move to South America for a while?

Is this a good plan or no?

If you're not gonna kill yourself or otherwise get up to no good, finish the degree first then do the backpacking.

It's hard to go back to school once you're out of the swing of it - you'll forget shit, you'll lose the knack for it, and you'll likely lose your GI funding so you'll be on the hook for a fuckton of money if you do decide to go back.

Treat backpacking South America as the light at the end of the tunnel for next year, and tough it out, college sucks dick but having the credential can and will open doors for you.

I don’t actually plan on killing myself I just hate being miserable and I didn’t even realize how miserable I was here until I went there
I honestly don’t think I can stand to spend another day of my life in this town, waiting a whole year to graduation is just another year what supposed to be my prime years wasted in this pit of misery and depression

11 months is gonna pass in either case, you're choosing whether after those 11 months, you have a degree or not.

I wouldn't personally read too much into it - college is a pretty depressing place in general, it's a gauntlet and proving ground which you're putting up with bullshit up front so you can get
>Hey, BTW, I have a degree, pay me more
-tier jobs when you're done.

If you CAN finish it, you 100% preserve the option to backpack when you're done, and it'll presumably be just as life affirming at 26 as it is at 25. If you back out, you're gonna find when you're done it's gonna be a massive PITA and personal expense to jump back in, if you can at all. Stick it out if you can emotionally handle it, because you're not really choosing
> a year of backpack or a year of college
but probably choosing
>finish college or drop out?
Plan accordingly.

Is work really that much worse than uni? You have a lot more of it but at least it's not something new every day. I really hope it's not because i seriously dislike uni an studying.

It is the funniest thing to me that zoomers are having midlife crises in their 20s

>Is work really that much worse than uni?
Life is a rich tapestry, it depends. I've had jobs so bad and bosses so terrible if they were sinking in quicksand I'd happily piss on their sinkhole, I've had some of the best experiences of my life with my coworkers. It all rounds to
>eh, on the good days it's rather nice, I supposed
but that's just life, I guess.

College was memorably shittier than normal life. Bruising deadlines, tough exams, and on every single metric besides looks (18 year olds do really have the nicest boobs on earth) the women are severely overrated by incels here.

I will tell you directly that it is worth one more year to get your stamp of
>I can get adult jobs that pay 80-200k starting instead of fighting teens for the same jobs I could've got in high school
if you have the stomach to stick around. Especially if uncle sam is paying for you to do it, throwing that away is something I think you'll regret, and you should only choose to do so if the alternatives
>no, really, I'm gonna have a psychotic break, suffer permanent emotional or mental damage, or will or kill myself if I finish this degree
Once you're done, you don't have to do it again.
