One night, I was hopelessly spam-applying for positions on LinkedIn. From this, I managed to get a pharmaceutical company to reach out to me about doing a telephone interview about "my background and the opportunity." They just reached out to me today. They want me to schedule this interview. This will be a summer internship that will deal with the company's policy and government affairs. The problem is, I am severely underqualified, and I have no idea why they even reached out to me for an interview. My cv is very bare. For example, they require or prefer applicants to have a field of study related to oncology or infectious diseases. They also want me to have excellent communication and presentation skills which I lack (even though I claimed I have communication skills on my cv). I also forgot to send them my university transcript which they demanded from applicants. They also claim a certain second language is a "strong asset", though my skills in that language are lacking (even though my cv said I'm bilingual). Not only am I surprised they even want me to do an interview when they saw my subpar cv and my lack of experiences and qualifications, but I also have no idea what to expect. What should I expect from this interview? It's really the first time I'm doing something like this. What do you make of this? I have yet to schedule the interview
