No. I feel the same way as you, OP, but I just spoke to my father today for the first time in almost a year and we talked about this. At 30 years old he was completely broke and alone with no education and considering suicide. Instead he kept trying. At 40 he had a reasonable job, a beautiful wife, and they had me. I grew up in a decent home with loving parents and we did fine. Did he miss out on the lifestyle social media is trying to sell you? The one where you get to be a cool plauer and drive nice cars and go clubbing and bang hot girls every week? Sure. But he made something of himself. His life has been worth living.
