Anons, I need your helpI'm from Ireland and we only have European red foxes. But years ago I had seen something else. I don't know what the fuck they were, but they were not native foxes, and i'm not even sure if they were foxes at all. They were more like Cuon alpinus than anything. They were the size of a medium sized dog, had black tipped tails and had different coloured coats, like blonde, red, grey, and brown. I used to watch them from afar, they would run around in the field infront of my house. I just thought they were big lanky foxes. But then one day I was coming home and when I got to the turn in to my house there were about five or six of them on the road and I got a good look at them. They scattered. Some of them ran into the field, some into my garden. I tried to chase one of them but it was already gone. I could actually smell the exact path it took through my garden, it was that smelly. I could tell it escaped out to the back fieldI was around 15 back then. I remember also wandering about in my garden just getting some fresh air, and I seen one of them at the bottom of my garden. It was big, I thought it could actually be dangerous, like a dog could. It had a red coat, and black tipped tail. It was kinda lanky, but much more sturdily built and about 4X bigger than a normal native fox. I stopped and stared at it and not 6 seconds later It turned to look at me even though I made no noise and seen it first, and it casually trotted into the field at the back and disappeared in the manner a typical fox wouldI haven't seen them again since, but those things stayed in my mind ever since. It must be 12 years now. Anyone have any idea? They are probably all dead now or too inbred to survive. Perhaps they were some exotic pets that were released or escaped. I don't know.
