Why do people keep saying this animal is trash? The Cheetah is literally the fastest animal on the planet, that makes it far better and superior than a Lion in my opinion.
>>4772039>fastest animal on the planetNope, that would be the Peregrine Falcon People probably call it ‘trash’ because it’s overspecialized and doesn’t have much going for it outside of speed
>>4772045The Falcon is a Bird though, not an Animal.Cheetahs can win any fight because being the fastest means no Animal can run away from it and no Animal can catch it.
>>4772039If the average human can beat it up barehanded, it's lame.
>>4772039That's just a lean cat Labrador.
>>4772045Yeah and sloths are overspecialized because their only defense is being so calorie inefficient that it isn't worth the trouble hunting them 90% of the time. Overspecialization doesn't make an animal "bad" and this shitty TierZoo esque powerscaling of nature is a really shitty way to look at things in general.
>>4772039They're overspecialized, they can't defend their kills or cubs from other predators, and they're so genetically similar that their populations are super vulnerable to disease. They're living on borrowed time.Leopardchads stay winning.
>>4772049>The Falcon is a Bird though, not an Animal. What’s the difference in your mind
You fuckers are ignoring the fact that cheetah-like felids have independently and convergently evolved to be extremely fast terrestrial predators several times with the American cheetah and the Giant cheetah to name a few. So again, tier zoo sucks and is a hack, there are no OP creatures, there are no low tier creatures. Things work until they don't and there's little inbetween since niches and environments fluctuate which leads to different means of surviving while some more specialized animals get left behind.
I think they're cute and I wish we could domesticate them.
>>4772049cheetah can go just as fast as the falcon if it jumps off a cliff, flying speed doesn't count
>>4774171Domestic cheetahs have been a thing since at least 3000 BCE
>>4772039It's just in the wrong continent, put them in Australia and they would thrive there.
>>4772045Peregrine Falcons are hacks who rely on gravity
>>4772039I love cheetos!
>>4772049>The Falcon is a Bird though, not an Animal.Birds are animals. Fish are animals. Insects are animals. The cheetah is an animal and it is also a mammal.Perhaps you mean that the cheetah is the fastest mammal in the world.Yes, the cheetah is the fastest mammal in the world.Whether the cheetah is "better" than a lion is a ridiculous question. All currently existing animals, fungi, bacteria and plants are the current (temporary) pinnacle of evolution. They are all the result of literally billions of years of uninterrupted successful reproduction. Even you.
>>4774210>Domestic cheetahs have been a thing since at least 3000 BCEPutting a wild animal in a cage and then putting the cage in your house does not mean that you have domesticated a species.
>>4774247the species is so friendly to humans that there is not even a single documented case of anyone being killed by a wild one.You can turn your back from one, you can be close to it, you can even pet it.meanwhile you gamble your life everytime you turn your back from an ambush cat.
>>4772039they are extremely squishy they can't even 1v1 a hyena, they're are beautiful tho, their future is assured as long as humans live
>>4774196>>4774216cheetoid cope
>>4774210You mean tame. Domestication would involve getting them to breed without issues in captivity.
>>4774270They sometimes attack women, and likely small children, from the back sometimes. They're wild enough to still be dangerous.
FACT no one has ever called cheetahs trashFACT everyone has always loved cheetahsFACT cheetahs are the best
>>4774691Facts.
>>4772039>fastest animalCould you eat them while fasting?
>>4774691
>>4772039Cheetahs were doing fine before rifles. Especially brown people with rifles.
>>4774306The only thing stopping captive breeding from working is, ironically, the fact that we inbred them so severely the first time we domesticated them. They're barely genetically viable in the wild, in captivity their gene pool is cripplingly shallow.
>>4774691Holy Based
>>4778909What if we used machine learning to, based on the genomes of all known cheetahs, generate novel ones that could be introduced to the gene pool?
>>4778736>Maharaja>Great King>ruler of a few square mileswhat is it with browns and title bloat
>>4779461Lack of executive functioning? They don't seem to have a proper grasp of scale and priorities in general—look at how long the Israelis and Palestinians have been squabbling over a worthless strip of desert the size of New Jersey.
>>4779461Makes them feel special or something
>>4779461Some guy in my office has "Global Head of XYZ" on his linkedin profile and XYZ is a back office team of six people.
>>4778736imagine how many people he saved by taking out so many dangerous predators. Hero.
>>4779461Wait till you hear about all the micro states in the HRE.
>>4778736>Kill 1710 tigers no one bats an eye>Kill 3 cheetahs EVERYONE loses their mind
>>4781888Tigers are fine, but they're also IRL monsters that will rip you limb from limb if given the opportunity, whereas cheetahs routinely get mogged out of their kills by hyenas and require emotional support dogs to exist in captivity
>>4778909>we inbred them so severely the first time we domesticated themThat never happened.
>>4783976> require emotional support dogs to exist in captivityHuh?
>>4783976I want to emotionally support an anxious cheetah.
>>4784060https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vKWk6tc2zY
>>4784060It's true. They tend to do poorly in captivity in zoos where tons of people are looking at them because it stresses them out. If they're stressed enough they won't drink or eat enough which can cause all sorts of problems, particularly with their kidneys. So many zoos pair cheetah cubs with dogs so that the cheetah can reference their own response off of the dog's and not be an anxious wreck all day. It works surprisingly well actually, and the paired cheetahs tend to have way less trouble with crowds and people than the solo ones.
>>4783976A lot of them tend to be labs for some reason. I guess they've just got a good temperament for it.
>>4778736shitskins are a plague
>>4774215plenty of placental mammals thrive there, it's a huge problem.
>>4778736fucking Koreans ruined it for the cheetuh
>>4772039it gets bullied hard by all other predators in its natural habitat. It's very very cute and good at its niche niche but that's it. Badass predators like lions and the like have big dick energy and appeal to the male fantasy, as opposed to get bullied all the time.
>>4772049bait or retarded?
>>4785259cheetahsissies… this is kinda true…
>>4785217Seriously? And they don’t try to maul the dogs or anything? Actually pretty cool psychological manipulation
>>4785259>badass lions>gets his meal mogged by a single hyena pack
>>4785276Nope. If anything the dogs occasionally bully the cheetahs, but that's also rare. Cheetahs really aren't big on mauling things. Their claws are blunted and non-retractible, so they're basically only used to help them with traction while running really fucking fast, and their teeth aren't really big enough to rip into things the way that a lion or tiger could. They generally kill their prey by clamping down on the throat and cutting off oxygen until the prey suffocates for those exact reasons. I'm also pretty sure that that the dog would win if it actually came down to a knock down drag out fight. But that's never been an issue since they're socialized and raised together basically from birth.
>>4785511where can i adopt a cheetah dog bonded pair
>>4772049How is a cheetah winning a fight against a polar bear for example? bitting and running until the polar bear bleeds out?
>>4785276Cheetahs are overgrown housecats, not true big cats. They have ancestral knowledge telling them that if they were smaller, the dogs would eat them.
>>4785533It would run really fast until the polar bear's neck snaps from whipping its head around to keep track of it, easy. They can never lose because they're the fastest
>>4772049
>>4785550that’s quite the power they have speed really is the best…
>>4785343Literally the other way around. Yeens flee like rats when a male comes running in. Hyenafutas keep coping.
