What kind of psychopath puts a dog door on their front door?
>>
>>4868832
I still don't get why deer are VERBOTEN as pets.
In many cases they're 100% natural like this, a thousand times more pet-like than many cats or retarded dogs some people have as pets.
>>
>>4869071
Their hard feet scratch wooden floors. It's a nightmare for landlords to deal with, so it's easier to just ban them outright.
>>
>>4868974
Who says that's a front door? It's doesn't look like one, it opens into a cramped hallway with no apparent coat hangers or boot racks or anything else you'd normally expect from a front entrance.

Imagine being a farm raised buck, just chilling, bulking up on the corn people leave out for you, growing out your antlers to look like a stud, getting as many curvy does pregnant as possible before some boomer shoots you from a golf cart. Your many offspring will continue the cycle in perpetuity,
>>
>>4869634
Musk deer are. Apparently when you harvest them you can also cut off this gland by their penis and inside is this purple powder that has a crazy strong smell that you can make perfume with. Deer are weird like that, those slits in front of their eyes they can actually control and open them up and express the glands with special muscles and it makes a smell and lots of species are called four eyed deer in their native language.
>>
>>4869716
I know your joking but there are studies showing that groups of animals in cities/heavily developed areas have gone through huge behavioral changes in the last few generations, some might even be getting smarter than the ones outside of cities.
>>
>>4876148
It's just like crows. They have to be smarter to navigate city life and find food. Also comes with having to learn what is predator or not. Crows are good at identifying human faces, which is surely a skill they learned after moving toward civilization. I've had one plant a nut under my car so I'd drive over it and crush it for him. That kind of planning would not be needed in the country.

We needed to breed wolves 10,000 years ago until they become to the very dogs that recognize us as partners from the moment they are born.

why is playful behavior in prey animal so rarely seen
>>
>>4926849
You answered your own question. Unfortunately the vast majority of a prey animal like a deer's life is spent being as mindful as possible of their surroundings to not get eaten by predators. I'm assuming it takes a lengthy amount of time for a deer to feel safe in a particular area for it to be comfortable enough for playful behavior like that.
>>
>>4926849
It's not. Fawns do it alot. The older ones? Probably have less luxury and stability to do so, due to more experience with the world. But you'll often see them play a lot too, if they have a human they like to stay around or near with. Sometimes you'll also see deer just hop or trot for what seems like just for fun too.

What are ewe talking about, it's seen all the time in prey animals. Stick a mouse wheel up in the forest and everyone uses it. Lambs basically play and milk (they're a made up animal but it's the same in mouflon)

Are there any plants that are super easy to grow that deer especially love to eat?

A big family of deer have been crossing my yard to get from pond to woods, but they do eat all my shit. I like watching them in the early mornings so it'd be nice if they just stuck to a designated deer patch.

So far I was planning on just loading up they back of our patio with hostas since idgaf about them as plants and they're pretty easy to grow. I'm afraid they'll start eating my roses when they bloom.
>>
>>4929475
in Swedish we have a term for this: viltåker (game field). going by wikipedia suitable species include
>brassica
>rape
>clover
>oat
>rye
on my property I have about a hectare with clear evidence of moose grazing on saplings. I've therefore left that part as-is. I plan on cutting down some taller shrubs that the moose haven't been grazing in the hopes that there's be nice new saplings for them to munch on
putting out salt licks is also a good idea

ty swede anon. Might throw some clover along the edge of the woods too for them.

CWD has the potential to make every cervid extinct.
Do deer stand a chance against this "disease"?
>>
>>4932589
We need to mix some human genes into the population to ensure that never happens
>>
>>4932589
I assume so with human intervention but I don't know much about it. Is it really that bad?
