The big, old cypress tree that was half the reason I bought my house started dying so I had to cut it down. I'm so sad bros. My old neighbors hated me for it, but when I showed them the holes in the stump from where it was rotting from the inside they mourned with me. Lawns.Too many people believe that you're not a good person unless you have a perfectly green, flat, and sterile lawn. No trees, no flowers, nothing useful about it at all, you probably shouldn't even walk on it. But you do need to waste tons of water growing it, pour pesticides all over it, and then when you cut it you have to make sure and dispose of the cuttings elsewhere, because it would be a shame if the nutrients were allowed to return to the soil. And once the grass starts struggling to grow because the soil is depleted, you need to go buy a bunch of artificial fertilizers (hopefully with pesticides included) and saturate the soil with it.Rinse and repeat, all for no fucking reason.

About 80% of the trees that used to exist on my parent's property when I was born are no longer there.The vast majority of them either fell, or died somehow and we removed it before it fell. Insects, mold, ivy vines. I'm not sure how they could have been saved.
