I think I made my squirrel exclusion funnel a bit too narrow. He doesn't climb any further than this.

Maybe the exclusion funnel is too narrow.

I decided to replace it with this. Fingers crossed

I envy you Americans who get to play with squirrels. No squirrels in my country.

Yet.

What are you going for, anon?

Specifically American squirrels, too.

Saw one squirrel leave through the one way door earlier this afternoon, pretty sure other squirrels also dipped. Not hearing any noise inside my wall this evening. Heard one squirrel trying to get back in a half hour ago but sounds like he didn't have success. I think they are officially evicted now. Gonna leave the mesh in place for a few days and then call a roofer to come repair the holes. Thanks for reading my blog, /an/.

Squirrels got into my bedroom wall and were being annoying and causing damage, just generally acting like squiggers. I was trying to prevent them from returning when they left to scavenge during the day. Made a DIY exclusion door. Seems to have worked perfectly. Previously made the cone in the OP but like I said, it was too small for them to exit.

Glad to hear that it's worked so far. Any other places that they might try to exploit? I've never dealt with squirrels but I know for other rodents that it can be hard to patch up any weaknesses that they had seen before.

Squirrels will usually make a second, larger "emergency exit" hole on the opposite side of a house that they can escape through if the primary hole is blocked or there's a predator. I put up the galvanized netting over the other ePredator. I've gotten up on the roof and confirmed that there's only the 2 holes, so with both of then blocked off, the squirrels should be SOL. That said, I'm monitoring all possible entry points in case thet make another hole somewhere or in case they manage to get the netting off of one of the holes.

Over the other hole. Idk how that mistyped happened.

Update: I haven't heard any squirrel noises for the past few days, so they're definitely gone. Roofer has been called to fix the holes.
