What's the likelihood of ever seeing a mountain cat out in the desert/chaparral hills?
>>4907097I live out by an area which is part of their natural range, but have yet to see one. I've even gone out at their peak hunting hours, dawn and dusk and haven't found oneI think ive found their scat before but that's all
>>4907097No idea what the goblin in the pic is but when I lived in a coastal desert/chaparral area in the mountains we'd see at least a couple bobcats each year and a mountain lion every other year or so. That was 16+ years ago though and I think the populations have dropped for both in the area. We'd mostly see them in the summers when they would lounge under the shade of trees on the hill. Bobcats probably venture into urban areas more often than the cougars so you might have to be separated from the bigger neighborhoods to see any.
>>4907163Pic unrel, We've actually had cougars venture into downtown before in my city, and it's a big city. I haven't seen one yet though and I actively hike in what's said to be part of their range. And have been doing so for about a year. Idk maybe they're just so stealthy I don't see them even when they're there
>>4907097Someone owns one of these as a pet??
>>4907163I think op is pallas's catI heard it's fairly shy
>>4907227Where can I buy one?
>>4907228They're endangered wildcats.Only way you could get one is opening a zoo.
>>4907916They aren't endangered thankfully, they're classified as least concern.
what would happen if you crossed one of those with a normal house cat?
>>4907916>>4908557I wanna buy one rn
