I Wanna Pet is Gharial, His Name is Gharnef!
I would really like a gray fox as a pet. There's a few that visit me every evening and one is very fearless of me, he'll come close to take food and stands maybe 10-15ft away eating while I watch and I talk to him a little bit and say good foxy, enjoy your hot dog. But I can't pet him, wild animals aren't really into being pet and it's difficult to build up that level of trust. If I were more dedicated to it maybe I could but I have a cat back inside that gets antsy when I go outside so I'm okay with just being in close proximity to my fox friend. Also I think they'd make a very good pet because they are basically just dogs, they're not even very closely related to true foxes (Vulpes) they're just called a fox because they're fox-like canids.

>>4907820Also hey /an/ friends, shut-ins that think I'm lying and making stuff up when I say I feed some wild animals. You can do this too. Gray foxes range all over the US, and aren't only in remote areas, they will visit suburbs too. It just depends if there's a good place for a den nearby that is not used by some other animal, you can probably attract them. Put some marshmallows outside at night and see if they disappear. Opossums and skunks will eat them too but I can tell you gray foxes love them and if they find some they'll eat them like a vacuum cleaner sucking them up. Get a camera set up and just watch to see who comes. When you see an animal you want to befriend on camera, wait until they finish the food then open the door and give them more. They'll start to associate you with food and pleasure and stop being so shy.
