How do I stop my dog from chewing up literally anything she finds on the table?

I'm usually good about keeping everything locked up now, but she'll eat literally anything she finds when I'm not looking.
She's chewing up cans, glasses, surge protectors, measuring cups, etc...
She's not eating them but the destructive habit is annoying and I can't watch her 24/7

Should I just start leaving peppers and shit on tables so she'll stop?

None, he passed on new years eve. I'm a fucking moron, mouldy old coffee cup left outside that blew over in the wind. Must have ate it, mycotoxic poisoning. Cannoli the whippet, pls remember him for me and heed this warning, check everywhere for possibly lost food or neglected cups. If remembering me as a fucking moron helps you then so be it. This is the only post I've bothered waiting 900 seconds for and probably will ever be

I hope all zoofiles gets skinned alive. I would happily do it myself. I have a remote 1700's cellar with chains, and I have a skinning knife. I have posted them here on /an/ before. I will gladly let zoofiles, jannies and mods slowly waist away there. Words can't describe how much you disgust me. I haven't taken pleassure in sex for over 15 years. Your screams of agony will be my reason for not killing myself, and your desperate pleading will be my way to orgasm. Fucking DIE zoofiles and jannies!!!!

Regularly drawing eyebrows on them is one of the perogatives of having white dogs. It looks best(most natural) after 24 hours, but before 72 hours, though. Here's fresh eyebrows on Whitegirl. Look how stupid and silly they look. Sometimes I play with the thought of painting their whole faces like a "normal" husky, or batman or a nigger, or whatever funny shit.

Hah, thanx for the trust, frenderino.=) Most humans believe I'm a complete failure in life, but somehow my whitefrens and all my other animals thinks I'm the absolute best. We're extremely happy here, considering everything. Lyonya's(Whiteboi's) same-litter sister died of old age two years ago. She was an extremely healthy working mushing sled dog, but also used for breeding. I think his brother, Kayuh, is still alive, but I haven't met him for over two years. Picrel. Whiteboi is the one being clawed by a large germanic man-hand.=D

It's a joy to see Leo happily play with them. They all seem so joyful. Most dogs prefer to be in a little pack, and it's so revarding to see them play together. Happy animals is probably the most wholesome and rewarding thing to watch in this world.

Whiteboi still looks like a young dog. Maybe that is a secret benefit of owning white dogs. They don't get gray hairs in their old age. Do you do any special diet for them?

>>4928222
There's actually 5 of them... I'm their step father lol. Two are the parents and then 3 are the kids. They are not at my home property and spend their time guarding 600 chickens and escaping. The big one in the middle probably weighs 120lbs. He is a horse dog.

>happy animals
Completely agree. There's a joy and calmness to seeing them living their best life. I have cows, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, and chickens all living their best lives. Big responsibility, but it is a blessed life to take care of them all. I eat good as well, lol. We had over 60 lambs born in the past month!

Huskies are some of the most annoying and ugliest dogs I've ever seen in my life. Theyre like the cats of the dog work. Their blue eyes do not match their color scheme. The are loud and disrespectful. I'd much rather own a Chihuahua and pitbull and poodle before owning a husky. In my opinion, they are incredibly overrated. I'm not surprised you love them so much, considering you're obsessed with your ancestors accomplishments
>>
I want to post some pictures to prove my point. This is ugly. Maybe the brown ones are better, but even then, they're loud and are inferior to GSDs and chihuahua's in terms of attractiveness. Hell, some of the pitbull, bully breeds are better looking than them
>>
The hype behind these guys is unwarranted in my opinion. They're fine (the brown ones), but there are other breeds I find better looking than them

Get yourself a new doggo and create more memories.

My doggo passed away last month after 15 years. I got to see every stage of his life including his decline. When he passed away it was his time and I think that made it easier to say goodbye. Had it happened suddenly it probably would have been much harder for me.

Now I'm getting a new pup next week and have been thinking of what to name him. My last dog was named Carter, it's what the breeder named him and it just stuck. I always associated the name with Jimmy Carter though and thought I would name my next dog after President to continue the tradition. What do you think of the name Jackson?

I can't blame the guy for some suicidal thoughts. I lost my dog in the fall of '23 and I had them repeatedly. She felt like more than a dog, but a true companion. She was basically attached to my hip her entire life. A few weeks after she died she visited me in a dream. She jumped on top of me and was wagging her tail like crazy and she told me she missed me. It was such a weird feeling, it was like electricity surging through my entire body. I've never felt anything like it before and it still makes me tear up thinking about it.

yeah so it's good for pulling, but won't significantly choke or hurt their neck/throat
groomers tend to use it if they don't just want to carry the dog or they're being unruly, a quick tug when it's in the proper spot and they usually learn.

my dog got put down today, lived 9 years

family didnt want to stay with him for it
his last moments were watching us leave him in a dark room alone with a stranger
i wonder if he could comprehend what was happening
i dont know what was wrong with him but he previously had tumours removed

i was going to take him for a walk yesterday but i went without him
always feel regret and guilt after not spending time with someone before they pass
was a rescue dog, always wondered what life he had before we adopted him

sorry for sad post, dont really have anywhere else to talk about it

Taking my reactive dog to a pet expo today at a convention center. On a scale of 1/10 how bad of an idea is this?
>>

10. Make sure your dog is trained before taking it somewhere. It's like signing up for a boxing match without training for boxing a day in your life

Hey /dog/ I have a question, usually my female goes into heat every 5 months, but today I just noticed the first signs of period blood and it's only been barely 4 months since the beginning of her last heat, what could be triggering early heat? Normally she is very predictable with her cycle, so this is a departure from what's typical, and what I'd expect.
>>
>be my dog
>lick the floor
>groom herself

>>
>>4929360
She ended up being fine. She was somewhat nervous, like jumping on us if other dogs were close by, and would try to dart after us if one of us walked away from “the pack” but, overall not horrible. We kept her on a tight leash and got her some treats. We also ended up splurging on a 3 point harness to help with leash pulling and it’s already helped dramatically.

Anyone know of an easier way to brush my dog’s teeth? She’s a fussy one

My dog is dying. It won't be much longer. Possibly tonight. Chronic kidney failure. I've spent every minute I wasn't at work of the past three weeks with him. He beat the vet's diagnosis by a week so far, but today had me second guessing not putting him down. Until yesterday he could still move around. Today, barely any. I'll re evaluate, but he hates the vet and I don't want him to go being stressed out. I don't think he'd be at peace if the vet came to the house either.

But I don't think he's in pain. Just... really weak. But when I asked him if he wanted to go for a ride today, he did his best. He can't jump up in the truck anymore, but he stood right there on the armrest and leaned on me. I hate it because he's still trying to do all the things he always did, he just can't anymore. I hope he just goes peacefully in his sleep. I cannot believe he's lasted as long as he has.

hate to be the bearer but sometimes you gotta let them go even if they're not a fan of the vet, he's doing his best while suffering for your sake, eventually he will be unable to eat and walk, i've seen it first hand, it gets worse and it's worse that way. I wont tell you what to do, it's your decision to make
>>
>>4929574

I'm pretty sure I'm seeing it. The vet was clear that CKF as opposed to acute is such a common killer because you don't even notice it until it's too late. The dog adjusts to the anemia and elevated chemical levels until it just finally hits a critical mass, but its too late by then for many dogs. We went over his charts and the only indication anything was wrong until I brought him in for an emergency checkup was that he'd lost some weight over the last year.

I'm sure he doesn't feel great, but up until new years day he was still playing fetch in the yard with me.

Not my original dog but he's living with me at the moment and has always been a cuddly but grumpy dog. Not sure whats happened recently but he's lately been less social with people, he tends to get into these weird states where he'll lay down on a sofa or bed, look off the edge and then twitch/shake and whimper while hyperfocusing on the floor. Anyone ever have this with a dog before? I figured it might have been separation anxiety since my sister left but its been far too long now.

Got a call from mom saying our family dog we've had for 15 years had to be put down. I've learned from this experience this afternoon that I probably should never have a dog on my own once I move out because I wouldn't be able to make tough decisions like this. The vet explained there was a pocket where she was internally bleeding and her spleen was enlarged, and that the internal bleeding might get better but on the other hand her fear was that if we brought her home it'd rupture and she'd die in pain (I'm probably getting some terms wrong but whatever, can't think straight). I just can't rationalize not doing everything possible to keep her around if there's a possibility she could get get better. I wouldn't let a human family member just die if they had a chance to live. As my mom was sobbing while they put the needle in her she asked "She wasn't going to get better was she?" (I guess this means the enlarged spleen/cancer) and the vet said "No". And the only thing I could think was "Do you really mean that or are you just saying it?"

Mom told me about the spleen thing I think 2 weeks ago but our dog didn't seem at death's door to me. Old and didn't eat a lot but she didn't seem in pain. She'd still bark at things she saw through the window like always.

Fuck man. Life sucks. Only living things I love in this world are my mom, my dad, and our dog.

My mom had a similar mentality. I think our dog was 15, 14 too. She was spending money on medicines and vet visits to avoid putting her dog, until one night she saw her die in a very undignified way. I wasn't really close to that dog, so it didn't really hurt me too well, but it I found my dog that I own now in the way we found her, it would kill me. Your mom is strong. I don't know if I could have done what she did, but I do know she did the right thing. You don't want to remember best friend like that

When a spleen cancer ruptures the cancrr spreads everywhere regardless, so at best your dog would have another gruesome month or two.

Lesson to be learned: get old dogs an ultrasound once a year at least to check before it grows ugly. Spleen removal is an easy procedure.

He passed this morning. I'm a little conflicted. I spent almost the entirety of the last 3 weeks with him. I was able to take off work at times, and when I couldn't I left him in the care of my parents.

Yesterday I decided I'd call the vet for in home euthanasia. He was still "there" but overnight could not walk unaided. He'd watch TV, respond to calls, and nose a ball around. Unfortunately they could not get to me until today at 11. Fine, I thought, still hoping he would pass in his sleep.

Around 9 last night the deep breaths started. I had been sleeping in the floor with him for weeks so he could get me if he needed to go outside. All night he would latch on to me. I didn't mind, other than this was the first time I thought he was suffering or looked scared. So all night I sat with him. He slept some. Not much.

At daybreak he tried to get up like usual. He made to go outside. He couldn't, but I supported him around his middle so he sort of doggy paddled in the air. We got to the back door and he made a retching noise. I got him off the back porch and sat him down and he collapsed. I hurried him back in the house and the death spasms happened. Fortunately it was over quick.

Last night was hard. I'm still glad I got to spend a ton of time with him before he went. He was a good sport right up to the end. But damn the last few minutes were hard to watch. I just held him and talked to him. I can't imagine not being there for their last moments if you have the choice to do so. I wouldn't have forgiven myself. But if I could have had the euthanasia at just the right time, and in house... I would have spared him last night.

I'm sorry bro, that's the worst thing you could have experienced. my mom saw a similar sight with her dog. It's good you laid with him on the floor. I bet he was happy about that

I spent a lot of the last three weeks sitting with him on the couch, watching law and order reruns, and having him bark at black people on TV. I'm glad I had that last day... even if last night was torturous for me.

I've lost lots of dogs over the years (none via neglect or accident or particularly suddenly). You never stop missing them, but it gets better like everything else. We just put our oldest to sleep today and she was a very sickly, clingy dog her whole life but we loved her and she had a great life despite her many illnesses. For a long time she was with us 24 hours a day. We'll miss her presence but it was just her time to go. She started showing symptoms of heart failure a few months ago and she just reached a tipping point and she was suffering and we made the call. Take comfort in knowing you did your best for them and they knew that. RIP Dot, I won't miss you shitting the bed.

I'm sheltering with a family I know because my house burned down, and they have two dogs: one of them is a friendly retriever, but the other is a fully-grown St. Bernard who's simultaneously standoffish and demanding attention.
>will walk up to me with ears perked before stopping 3 - 5 ft. short
>demands attention when retriever is being pet
>will not break eye contact
>acts differently depending on who's around
>when it's just me in the room, she's cautious but will come up for pets and then disengage
>when the mom of the family is in the room, she'll repeatedly "check on me" and won't disengage
Frankly, if this was my dog, I would be aggressively discouraging this behavior by directly asserting dominance, but that's not an option in this situation. Anything I can do to get her to either leave me alone or chill the fuck out? I've fed her treats (which she'll eat out of my open palm), interacted with the other dog in front of her, interacted with the family, pet her, etc. Haven't played with her.

And then up again when he remembers that most hispanic offenders are documented as white, and everyone who has ever lived around negroes ever knows that their pets magically turn in to strays whenever the cops are around.

Does anyone really believe the group that commits the most violent crime commits the least animal abuse? Or do they just live in areas with more stray animals, so it's easier to get away with catch and release sadism? Black animal abusers target stray animals, white animal abusers have no access to strays so their dependence on a captive victim makes them easier to catch. But don't believe for a second the #1 perpetrators of rape and assault are totally leaving animals alone unlike their close cousins in their home country.

Its right, it's one of the many right things that BTFOs you. You have lost this argument so many times and in so many ways it's starting to get funny.

Even the biggest anti-white liberals don't dare touch this topic because they know they'd lose, and then get embarrassed by a list of every non white country and culture that allows or tolerates animal abuse, a gorillion anecdotes of animal abuse in black neighborhoods going totally unpunished, and their own various arguments regarding the meaninglessness of arrests in constructing racial bias. The neo-nazi narrative would then become "liberals discover white people are the only race that cares about animal welfare and enforces animal protection laws". Which is, well, kind of true.

You should follow their lead and take the L.
>>
>>4931547

You search up "charged with bestiality" and every single article that shows the offenders face shows a white couple. The animals that get abused the most behind dogs are farm animals (most farmers are white). The occupations that are most responsible for abusing the animals are white dominated

I found a study on sexually violent predators (SVPs). 33/1200 or so SVPs had a history with bestiality. 80% of them were white. Keep in mind, black people (men) made up like over half the population of the offenders, while white guys made up a little over a 1/3

You can keep denying reality, but it doesn't change the facts. Just take your L like a man. Every other race does

Keep in mind, the retard claiming I'm wrong admitted that he doesn't believe black men disproportionately commit violent crimes in the US. He's an actual lunatic. It sucks, but it's the truth; white men disproportionately commit bestiality in the US, and black men disproportionately commit violent crimes in the US. Just accept your (race's) flaws and do better within your community. Stop whining like a little baby, claiming everything is rigged and against you

You called it. He gets btfo and just points at a small, low quality data set that falls apart in context. Again.

>>4931555
Wow, a statistical analysis based on 26 people.

Thats all we get from being the only race to self police for animal welfare and actually look for a crime with victims that cant talk? Thats it? We need to do better. Obviously no one else will because african, hispanic, arab, and asian countries tolerate and allow animal abuse. It’s up to us even if that means only white people are arrested for hurting animals - because only white people care to create a world where it can’t be gotten away with.
>>
>>4931557
>muh handful of people arrested for the crime no one looks for
Conclusion: white people film themselves doing sex crimes more often

Its "gay porn is whiter than christmas so whites are gayer" all over again (blacks are actually 0.4 gayer than whites)

You lose.
>>
>>4931558
1. Bestiality is legal in Finland
2. Why is it that white men commit bestiality at a higher rate in the US than blacks, Mexicans, Arabs, and Asians, despite their country enabling animal abuse?

Powerful deductive skills. It's been very muddy over here. Only a drop in the dirt bucket when you have an indoor cat that somehow makes your entire home dirtier than a dog you take outside to play in the mud 2-3 times a day. Funny how that works out...

There are multiple ways to get caught commiting bestiality. Minorities would have to avoid family, friends, and neighbors seeing and reporting them and the vet reporting them (because we know that minorities go to the vet about as often as white people). That's irrational to think that

You already lost this argument every time and its clear you’re a stinky cat faggot trying to kill /dog/ again so heres your present:
A dog always has a natural right to kill and eat any cat that enters its territory. My German Shepherd gets at least one a month and no one has ever suspected him.

Cats are inferior to dogs because they are less intelligent and can not exterminate pests. Cats also kill more babies than pitbulls. QED. Catfags lose. Dog website, catredditor. Go back.

Minorities dont see bestiality as wrong in their own countries. Why would they suddenly care?

Face it, even anti white liberals dont touch this for a reason. Unlike you they cant just repeat the line in the face of solid arguments proving why the data point is insignificant. You’re just some dumb catfag, arent you? Cats are shit pets. Reddit is over there.

I said in the US. What are you even talking about?

It's clear to me you're insanely ignorant on this topic. Let's pretend 90% of minorities who are native to their country are fine with bestiality. You're telling me the people who choose to leave their country for better opportunities, and their descendants are all ok with bestiality? You cannot be this dumb

As the night goes on, the arguments claiming that white males don't actually disproportionately commit bestiality in the US gets dumber and dumber. It's becoming more and more evident that these people are coping

Try whether she has the same reaction to other people too.

Maybe she is in pain (maybe psychological), and somehow that pain is associated with you for some reason.

Yeah I wanted to initially but I received mostly bones from cremation. Not that many ashes actually.

Better be safe than sorry, I won't be trying to do wild burial.

Black people aren't Africans. They are of African descent, but they are not African. The vast majority of black people have never experienced African culture, so how could they emulate it here? This is what I'm talking about -- you guys are very, very stupid. You just talk out of your ass. Speaking of ass, of black people were abusing dogs in mass in ghettos, wouldn't someone noticed there's an epidemic of stray dogs with signs of sexual abuse? Listen dude, you're embarrassing yourself. Take the L and go home

I will add are there any other behavioral changes? Refuses to eat? Licking some area more than usual? Loss of energy? Doesn't want to go outside when usually she would go?

It can mean some acute problem. Dogs can be just silent (no whimpering or anything) even if something very serious is going on in their bodies.

I don't think my dog is vaccinated at all. What are the risks of this, beyond the obvious?
