how close have you ever gotten to being killed by an animal? heres mine

>live in heavily forested area
>playing with my dog in the back of my land
>walking back to house
>dog stops, turns around and starts barking
>he is so special that he barks at pictures of realtors in "for sale" signs
>obviously disregard it
>catch up to dog and turn around
>a fully grown black bear had crept out from behind a shed and was stalking us
>shock paralysis
>bear starts backing up
>dumbass dog soon decides to charge the bear
>i run after him screaming his name
>bear decides it doesnt want to deal with this shit
>the wild bear fled

i look when dogs bark now

he just wanted a friend

The black bear was probably just walking in the same direction, bro. All the black bears in the USA kill 1 person a year.

because most people live in cities where the biggest threats are rats and mosquitoes. your likelihood to be killed by a bear goes up when its 10 metres away from you

that dude was large enough that the bears were probably more scared of him. Maybe he was worried that a larger bear was lurking somewhere.

true, but the bear was with her cub, it's probably for the best that he escaped.

Every bit of danger I've ever been in with an animal was because of people letting their dogs run loose.
There's not a whole lot of wildlife where I live, since it's in the middle of a semi-rural trailerhood. Got woods, played in them as a kid. Just not a lot of animals other than birds and squirrels.
>Went down to creek with grandma(Was around 8y/o)
>Creek's decently far down in the woods
>Starting to walk back, suddenly hear crashing and barking/growling
>Random ass dogs from nowhere that we'd never seen on our road
>Grandma has me run while she holds them off
I booked it, grandma wasn't long behind me. They didn't bite her, so maybe they were more bark than bite.

Did this dog get these men killed or did the men get the dog killed?

(Video ends right before the attack so there's no gore or anything)

The men got themselves and the dog killed by going out into the wilderness without a weapon.
Lineworkers in bear country carry. Unless you're in a faggy cucked country where you can't, you're basically coin tossing whether you die or not that day every time you go out without a gun.

what kind of site is that?

I would never enter bear country without a 10mm or .44 bear blaster. These fuckers are so fast and they can sneak up on you so easily. I'd go for a chest holster if you can.
>>
>working a salmon escapement in alaska
>get dropped off at a remote stream, set up a wier across in and a fish trap
>every morning get into the trap, count salmon, take samples and net them over the wier and on thier way
>bears using the trap for easy food, curious when we are in there
>bear sitting ten feet away, one person watching them with a shotgun while the other flings netfulls of salmon around as fast as they can
We put a couple rounds over that bear's head and maced him a few times, eventually we had a pretty good relationship with him and he would give us space and only check the trap when we were done with it.

Bears are more scared of you than you are of them

nothing gets you heat racing like feeling a shake, looking down 40 feet and seeing a grizz standing up at the base of the pole you gaffed up.
>>

That’s the issue. The vast majority of bear attacks are defensive
