If humans drink the milk of a cow, then what does the child of the cow drink?
>>
the same thing

they have been selectively bred to produce more milk so they can feed their calves and also give milk for human consumption.
at least that's what I suppose, I don't actually know
>>
If they're female they get some milk too, if they're bobby calves (male) they mostly get killed at birth, although it's becoming more common for them to be used for beef now.

>killed at birth
No, they grow up enough to become veal

milk of a human

The house cow gets milked in the morning for half the udder, the calf gets the rest of the milk of the day.
In commercial dairies the calf gets the colostrum and continues to feed off the mother for a bit but not long enough to learn how to cow then is separated and fed milk from a mix of all the cows
>>
Is not a big deal, they are both mammals.

What about horse milk?
Should humans be drinking that?

What about elephant milk?
What would happen to humans who drink it?

What about whale milk?
Should humans drink any?

Cow milk contains bovine growth hormone.
Which is a human carcinogen.

Milk. Cows make around 7 gallons a day.

>What about horse milk? Should humans be drinking that?
They have, for thousands of years. Since at least 5th century BC.
>What about elephant milk? What would happen to humans who drink it?
Well reportedly elephant milk tastes slightly bitter and unappealing. No reports on sudden mutations or death though.
>What about whale milk? Should humans drink any?
If you can figure out a way to milk a whale, be my guest.
>Cow milk contains bovine growth hormone. Which is a human carcinogen.
>Significant levels of intact IGF-1 from oral consumption are not absorbed as they are digested by gastric enzymes. IGF-1 present in food is not expected to be active within the body in the way that IGF-1 is produced by the body itself.
>The Food and Drug Administration has stated that IGF-I concentrations in milk are not significant when evaluated against concentrations of IGF-I endogenously produced in humans.
>A 2018 review by the Committee on Carcinogenicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COC) concluded that there is "insufficient evidence to draw any firm conclusions as to whether exposure to dietary IGF-1 is associated with an increased incidence of cancer in consumers"

Bobby calves are killed. That's what bobby calf means. Where I live it's about 4 days old when they are fit enough to take a ride on the bus to the meat works. Calving hundreds of cows milking them and feeding hundreds of calves is very busy time for dairy farmers and they'd like to get it done quickly and smoothly, the bobbys worth very little as meat. You're not allowed to dong them on the head anymore some people did used to do that. They will usually try to get down to keeping a bunch of females of good breeding worth and rearing them as replacement cows.

But there is also a market for i.e random fresian bulls to be raised to adulthood for beef. The females obviously more valuable to grow up and be dairy cows. And some people will do things like use beef bulls across their lesser cows with lower breeding worth to make dairy beef hybrids, both male and female will be raised for the beef market.

As for what these calves drink if they are raised on dairy farm they may just drink milk straight from the vat their mothers fill up. But sometimes they don't depending on contracts where the farmer may not own the milk once it's gone into the vat and cant take it out again. Then he might bypass the vat for a sec and fill a few buckets or then they might be raised on milk powder even right next to the dairy shed where a huge vat of milk is sitting. Or if they are sold before weaning maybe milk powder as well, unless the rearer has an arrangement to get fresh milk from a dairy farm. The milk powder obviously being produced in factories that process all the collective milk farmers are supplying to them
