My black GSD died of cancer a few years ago and I'm thinking of when I finally get a replacement making it a husky, I'm just super leery because of all the stuff you hear about them. I want a smart, athletic, loyal, and protective dog. From everything I've read about huskies the last two are basically impossible to get from them.

The most annoying dog I ever knew was a border collie that was an absolute ball junkie. It's really rare for a more independent breed to be so annoying that they drop a filthy tennis ball in your lap every time you sit down.Obedience isnt actually that useful. Oh great, your dog has snap recall and the most reliable and tight heel on earth so you can walk them off leash. That's a real useful skill when walking them off leash is illegal and dangerous, and lots of perfectly well trained malinois have ran off and attacked people and livestock regardless.
