Japan to deploy troops to suppress the bear rebellion.
https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2025/10/27/japan/akita-may-request-sdf-for-bears/

>Akita Prefecture is considering asking for the deployment of Self-Defense Forces troops following a spate of bear attacks across the prefecture, Gov. Kenta Suzuki said on Sunday.
>“The situation has gone beyond what the prefectural and municipal governments can handle,” Suzuki said.
>The number of deaths from bear attacks in the country in fiscal 2025, which started in April, stood at 10 as of Friday, the highest annual figure since data first became available in fiscal 2006. More than 100 people have been killed or injured so far in the current fiscal year.

Why is the first though to murder the bears?
>>

>Why does Apex predator kill other things
It's just nature. The last thing you want are bears that reproduce who've killed humans to then have no fear of humans. They just need to euthanize the bears that've attack people.
>>
Compared to that dumb town in North Carolina where they let the black bears roam everywhere, these ones seem really aggressive.
>>

Asian black bears are a different species from American black bears, and are far more aggressive in general.

>Japan to deploy troops to suppress the bear rebellion.

Lol, amazing. So the feds are distracting Japanese away from the immigrant invasion of their country by running news stories about attacking bears.
Feds are doing the same thing in Europe just with wolves instead.

Freaky, psychopathic shit. So evil.

Sanae-chan will never allow dirty immigrants in Japan

and so it begins...

Like trump, she will after hinting she wouldn't. You're completely lost if you think there's any meaningful difference between left/right in Japan or America on the immigration problem.

So… the great Akita / Bear wars begin…
>>
So the official line is that rural population dropping means less hunters to kill bears which is leading to bear population going up and having more interaction with humans. This accurate or you reckon there are other, bigger factors at play here?
>>
>>5066452
Less hunters means it’s harder to address the current bear problem, but the direct reason is rural villages becoming less populated or even abandoned, which encourages the bears to venture beyond the mountains and forage for human garbage.

On October 29th, Mariya Tomoko, a former Takarazuka Revue actress, updated her X (formerly Twitter) account. She posted a "one-word" comment, "the worst," accompanying a quoted online news article. The person she condemned as "the worst" is—

The issue began with a bear sighting incident in Shako-tan Town, Hokkaido, reported by HTB Hokkaido News on October 22nd. Reportedly, a 284-kilogram bear was captured in a box trap set up in the town on September 27th. Local members of the hunting association rushed to the scene after being notified.

The box trap had been set behind the home of a town assembly member. When a hunter urged the assembly member, who was present at the scene, to step back to ensure safety, the member allegedly became angry and took an aggressive stance, saying things like, "I'll make you quit [the association]." At that time, the assembly member denied the statement to HTB, saying:

【"I did not say, 'I'll make you quit.' A single town assemblyman does not have that kind of power."】

However, on the 28th, a further detailed follow-up report was released.

"The assembly member is a man in his 70s who serves as the Vice Chairman of the nine-member Shako-tan Town Assembly. Perhaps confident in his status as a locally well-known figure, he must have been offended when the hunter asked, 'Who are you?' He allegedly retorted, 'Who do you think you're talking to?' and the trouble escalated when he was cautioned further," said a web writer familiar with the details of the incident.

Witnesses from the time revealed that the Vice Chairman also made the following statements:

【Do you really need this many people? You're only here because you get paid, right? If you talk to me like that, I'll make sure you can't carry out the culling, and I'll cut your budget in the assembly. I'll make you quit.**】

These "power harassment" statements, insulting to the hunter and the association, could easily be interpreted as a threat wielding political authority. According to the aforementioned writer, a further "problem" arose:

Hunters May Not Deploy
"Some hunters reacted negatively to the assembly member's remarks, and the hunting association decided to refuse deployment requests from the town. The trouble has not yet been resolved. Furthermore, for about a month until HTB reported the initial news, this information was not shared with town residents or even the full assembly. This means there was a failure to report the issue.

During this period, there was a possibility that hunters would not respond even if a resident reported a bear sighting to the town. The thought of potential human casualties is chilling. Even if his own pride was hurt, his actions in endangering the town and its residents could be called a 'man-made disaster' caused by an assembly member."

On social media, where the series of troubles spread, many voices demanded accountability from the Vice Chairman:

《If someone in Shako-tan Town is attacked by a bear, especially if a child is put in danger, how will that Vice Chairman take responsibility?》 《It's the kind of delusional remark typical of a power holder in a small community. They're the one who will be in trouble, so they should just sincerely apologize.》 《If this is true, it's power harassment, and it's understandable why the hunting association won't deploy. I know it sounds harsh, but the assemblyman isn't risking his life, is he?》

With bear damage spreading across the country and situations potentially threatening human life, regional representatives like assembly members are urged to maintain the utmost composure in their conduct.

Yes. Prey values life, predators respect death. Prey believes killing is wrong. Predators believe killing is natural and therefore right. Think like prey and be prey.

Carnists are superior.

i mean, if a town is paying you less than minimum wage to track and trap an animal that can fuck you up and they threaten to reduce your pay and the manpower available to you, would you want to go out of your way to go to that town you don't even live in

So the bears have returned!
>>
>>5066454
makes no sense. wouldn't less people mean more food for bear in nature?
>>
>>5066751
Less people doesn't mean that the destroyed habitats return. The people still living there exploit nature all the same, whether for themselves or to sell materials in cities.

I have a feeling this will be Japan's Great Emu War.
