I walk and occasionally jog one to two miles per day, on top of being on my feet walking around all day for my job. I average 16-18k steps per day. I have also been going to the gym 3 times a week for the past two years. Am I some power lifter? No. Do I stay the full hour and and complete my HIIT and cardio circuits? Yes. I simply cannot build muscle due to my low hormones. My pitutary simply can't make any more LH and FSH. My endocrinologist gave me drugs to stimulate my pitutary and it did not produce any more hormones, it was already maxed out. That 240 ng/dL of testosterone is as much as my body can make naturally, always has been I think. With that low of testosterone, I can't put on muscle. I eat a reasonably healthy diet and don't gorge myself. Am I a 100% perfect "clean eater"? No. But do I work to maintain proper nutrition and minimize the junk food? Yes. I also don't drink or do drugs either. I'm 6ft 6in and weigh 188 lbs, the problem is the low testosterone has it all go to my stomach and hips. The gynecomastia doesn't help how my body looks either. I wish it were as simple as you say: just work harder and my body will just magically fix itself. But unfortunately it's not.
Is there a limit to how much testosterone is safe? What are the downsides?
