Sardines for lunch
>>21943229Looks decent though I never understood why some people put lemon on theyre fish
>>21943237They say it balances the taste
>>21943229Looking good fren, you're meals always look tasty!>>21943237I really like it on mackerel, it cuts through the fat. But it's a nice combo, In my country if you are served fatty meat like pork there's always some lemon on the side.
>>21943273your meals*
>>21943248>>21943273Mind you it’s very usual to do this with meat and fish here as well, like with schnitzel some even put it into lemon juice overnight to make it more tender I just don’t like the sour taste it gives the meat/ fish
>>21943273Thank you!
>>21943293>>21943229I like it, looks filling and low calorie. Nutritional value to sardines is pretty good, believe it or not.
>>21943296>Nutritional value to sardines is pretty good, believe it or not.Yep, good omega fatty acids and vitamins
>>21943296>>21943300I heard a rumor that they contain heavy metals thoughIs that true?
What do sardines taste like? I've never been brave enough to try due to lack of exposure.
>>21943324They don't taste bad to me but I will eat just about anything that's food. I have eaten them straight from the can. Very fishy though.
>>21943324Like fatty fish, it's really good. I baked a bread last night and it would have been good to have some nice sardines. They go really well on a toasted peace of bread with some live oil and lemon.
>>21943350
>>21943350Alright I'll grab me a can later. It's one of those things like anchovies, just not super popular in the U.S. and you'll hardly find anyone here that has even tried them
>>21943358It's less saltier than anchovies. I actually prefer to cook em fresh in the oven with some olive oil. The canned ones are a hit and miss sometime depending on the brand - quality of oil and spices.
>>21943229how much did that cost
>>21943383I don't know, not a lot. The sardines were a gift but you can look op the price. The bread came from the bead maker so maybe 3 euros for the flour mix. One union one lemon some butter. So really not a lot. Also my boss pays for all the food on the schip. So it cost nothing.
>>21943361lel, speaking of, I went downstairs and my girl just bought some fresh ones and put them in the oven. best recipe for me is olive oil, salt, black pepper and oregano.she also bought some kalamari and I'm gonna fry some, gonna post pics later.
>>21943395Cool!
>>21943395
>>21943568Not my best work. Burned them a tat bit, but it was splashing so much I couldn't turn em, almost got into my eye. But they were so good. Fresh are so much better than store bought.
>>21943569>store boughtI meant frozen*
>>21943569that looks pretty tasty <3
very stinky
bro is straight up stinkin the house
>>21943351i like your posts but i've seen this pic like 20 times already.
