The current American trade standard is extremely asymmetric and hurtful to our own chances.We have higher regulations than the rest of the world, which artificially raises cost to operate domestically. We have higher wages/standards. But we don't have the trade protections that we used to, which leveled the playing field and kept jobs here.You have to raise tariffs and duties and have standards for who gets to import, or else you get this. A state that simultaneously artificially increases the cost to operate here while having no safeguards at all for outsourcing.
