Are they effective or a waste of time?
>>
For what?
>>
>>58776857
Sentiment analysis, market analysis, anything
>>
>>58776822
How do you use those?
>>
>>58776871
since when does retail dictate the market
only when it does does sentiment analysis matter

I'm the one asking the question, you know
>>

Scraping what? Twitter and Reddit both locked themselves down due to scraping for AI training.
>>
>>58777122
scraping telegram for example
>>
>>58777222
Don't you need an account to access telegram? You'd hit the per-account request limits immediately and get restricted.
>>
Waste of time. Anyone who can utilize them properly doesn't need "web scraping tools", just a competent bash shell.
>>
>>58777280
You just log into a chat and scrape normally messages into that, not rocket science
>>
>>58778507
So you're connecting to a handful of chats to scrape a handful of messages. Isn't the point to get as much content as possible to figure out what the broad market sentiment is? Would a few chats really provide anything useful for how the market is going to move? Seems like much to small a sample size, prone to bias.

you have a point, but this could be part of a broader sample, like plebbit or other internet investing forums
