Lets say you geti into a genuine dangerous Situation
Maybe your house is on Fire and you try to escape with all your Gold or maybe the Feds are afteryou and you have to go on the run for a while would a Aluminum Briefcase be a good mean to Hold all your metals?

>>
>>58906245
>you try to escape with all your Gold
One of gold's specific advantages is that you can fit a hefty sum in your pocket. Do you really have so much you need a case at all? That'd just be adding bulk for no good reason. It's a different story for silver but going on the lamb is when you want gold anyway.
>Its relatively sturdy and conceals all your stuff without drawing to much attention
Maybe at an airport or in a business park. Beyond that, people will take notice of it.
>Should i go with these or am i stupid?
You're kinda stupid. As poked at above it will depend on where you plan to hide, but a Jansport backpack will be all but invisible in most places and you can put whatever storage you were using inside of that. An aluminum case though? Not so much.

Keep enough to grease some palms along the way and leave the rest. Anything you do take should be able to fit in that same backpack along with whatever creature comforts you bring. Again, legging it is not silver's forte and I don't think any kind of hand case is likely to be below notice unless you're female and have a clutch.

Silver does nothing to grow nor even maintain one’s wealth. Astronomical premiums even compared to gold fractionals at the same price point.

It’s simple economics. Stacking lots of silver is inefficient other than to have a shit ton of silver. Sorry!

one of the main reasons I got into stacking. current day normies love gold. even a thousand years ago, your average consanguineous yeoman normie would still love gold. its value and longetivity go hand in hand.
>>
>>58906638
same thing applies to precious stones, the y are loved by everybody and easy to carry but unlike gold they are very difficult to test authenticity/determine value. for instance my ruby ring is 260 years old and has a 5 kt birmanian ruby on it, it is worth 10~15 grand but it may take you a few months (maybe a year) to find a buyer.

That's the point of the joint stack. To build it together. But it's foolish to have everything I've worked so hard for immediately be shared because the government is involved with marriages.
My ex gf and I lived together for 8 months. She agreed to pay for half of the bills and my mortgage. I never asked her to. When she left she said "I wouldn't have spent this money if I knew it would end like this." I said nothing. My mortgage is my mortgage. When I have another live in gf in the future I wouldn't want her paying half of my mortgage. Splitting utilities is fair though since it makes incentive to keep costs down.
>>
>>58907127

In fact that's not why you get platinum. Once you have enough gold and silver, it can be fun to add some spice to your stack with a bit of platinum (and maybe palladium next).

Note that platinum is more scarce than gold, at least the one that we can mine; it also has unique properties and multiple industrial uses. This is why it can spike wildly, like when it surpassed gold. I think it's very unlikely that it will have a huge drop in the next years, with higher chance to increase. It just can't give you the safety of gold.

Thinking of getting this.

Also brand new to metals, about how much extra should I pay over the spot price? Of course the people selling need to make some money, but the spot price on 1 oz of silver is $30 and some others are asking for nearly double.
1 gram of gold is worth $80 and a lot of places are asking for $100-115, is that reasonable?

correct me if I'm wrong but dont most crypto coins, for example bitcoin, have a set amount of currency that can ever exist? That's a bit different than fiat currencies like USD, which are inherently inflationary.

but yeah, it's pretty wild that the entire world uses faith in the USD as the reserve currency in general. I strongly believe that will not and can not last. Russia got off swift and said FU to the dollar, I think other countries can, too. But in the meantime they will keep using USD as much as needed

Does anyone ever pay capital gains taxes on gold sales in the US?
Apparently dealers don't have to report sales of most bullion coins, and the reportable ones aren't even reportable by dealers unless you sell over 25 at once.
So why would anyone report gold sales on their taxes?

in general, fractionals (anything less than 1 ozt) are not a good deal, and the premium margin is much higher than it would be for coins of 1 ozt. (But do you research! I got a fractional 2016 golden panda (China) for very close to spot once [I was in China at the time], so it is possible to get fractionals with low premium margins, just fairly uncommon)

Sovereigns (coins that are minted by a government) are generally the most loved, due to being widely identifiable and standardized. Some even have anti-counterfeiting features. The 1 ozt size makes it easy to stack for gold. For silver you can do bars too, or get a monster box (500 coins).

I mean if you're a billionaire you can stack gold bars but that's probably not any of us here, statistically speaking.

Basically, the goal is to minimize premiums while acquiring the most easily identifiable and genuine high quality metal, for the fewest dollars as possible. That's what a good stacker maximizes first, with a secondary emphasis placed on aesthetics and numismatic (collector's) value.

Palladium itself is not, and is perfectly fine to handle.

>>58910158
Long story short, lower denominations and limited or collectible pieces like that usually come with bigger premium. I always advise to buy only a few of those fancy ones, while stacking to the most convenient bullion you can afford.

Many 1 oz silver coins are sold fairly close to spot (excluding VAT). Ever more so with mass produced gold coins like Krugerrands or Sovereigns, or bars starting from 50 or 100 grams, where premiums are easily under 3%.

Buy that one if you like the design, but then go for junk silver (the most convenient) or more common 1 oz coins like Maples, Kangaroos, Britannias, Eagles etc.

Another retard question
The silver this is made out of is worth ~$30 but is it legally worth $1 or something? If I trade it in at a bank would I get $1, but if I trade it in at a bullion exchange thing would I get $30? And what about foreign ones? I've seen some Australian ones for one dollar.
Would it be better then to get one that doesn't have a value on it?
