>own house outright
>still nearly $3k per month in expenses
How can I bring these down and potentially FIRE? The big expenses are taxes and insurance which I can't do much about.
I don't drink and hardly eat out so the fun is just driving to the mountains. I suppose I could technically bring this to $0. I included a car payment but did not include health insurance from the open market, so that's kind of a wash.

does your investments not cover $3k a month?
>>
>>59242328
>fire
You need to go back, unironically

I'm in a similar situation to you. I think at 3k income or less per month, there's only so much you can do to bring the expenses down. My next project is solar panels with battery so that my monthly electricity bill goes towards paying that instead of the utility provider. In a few years when those are paid of, as well as my car, that'll already be ~500 less per month. In 15-ish years, the house being paid off will be another 700 off in monthly expenses. That's basically all you can do I guess, buy things to avoid rent/bills etc. That and trying to earn more (career progression or starting your own business).

By cutting the biggest positions duh

>Car $800
Why do you have a loaned car

>Home maintenance $300
Is this just a fixed saving for future maintenance nor actual expenses each month?

>Phone and Internet
Cut one of the two, you already have internet in the phone plan no?

>Fun
No fun allowed

Ive seen much worse mutt budgets, good on you i guess
>>
>>59242360
I've been here longer than you mohammed

>>59242355
Just under and that doesn't provide any cushion if any little thing went wrong. Nor does it really allow for my investments to grow.

>>59242363
Thanks Dave

I'd be careful of solar it kind of seems like a gamble for if it will ever pay off before they break because of a storm or whatever. It'd be great for off grid innawoods but I don't see the point otherwise.

Fixed saving and really spanning years, I can and do get by with less but there will eventually big some big ass expense I'm sure.
Like I said I could pay the car off, I chose to keep the car expense ($500) and exclude health insurance which would be about the same, but the car insurance isn't cheap.
Fair enough the other stuff is luxuries. And I could drop those out or at least make it more of an ebb and flow (fun only if an investment does well, etc.)

My yearly rent is the same as your property tax, lmao. Get goyed.

Groceries are only $200 so you're living alone? Can't be this low with a woman and or family. Thus convert some of that eating money into buying groceries for 5% of the cost, and stop farting around in whatever ricemobile you have as a hobby
>>
-Try to find cheaper healthcare, aka Healthcare.gov. Use GoodRX/Singlecare for prescriptions. You can go all the way and remove your health insurance every other year if you are healthy, but that's risky.
-Reduce car insurance to liability-only
-Cut your fun budget in half
-For groceries, try shopping at Aldi or at least Walmart
-Use a cashback credit card

Fair but I live in a place with lots of sunlight and mild weather (usually one day of snow per year max, and hail is extremely uncommon). From what I've read, you can count on multiple decades of life expectancy for solar panels (if they don't get physically damaged).

>I don't see the point otherwise.
Well mainly that once you're done paying them off, you're not paying any electricity bill anymore, which can be a >200 bucks monthly saving depending on the time of year.

>Cheaper car
>Stop eating out
>Get rid of the moto
>Cheaper phone plan
Everything else looks fixed.

It's insane. If I did leave my job I suppose I would have no reason to stay in the area and could go somewhere that isn't being run into the ground by libtards.

>>59242495
I can eliminate that $400 if need be. I was just trying to be realistic.

>>59242520
For healthcare I just did a cursory search, ideally it would be less but I kind of expected it to be like property tax and I get goyed.

>>59242538
Yeah it would be sick to not have that bill to worry about. And run AC and electric heat whenever you want without thinking about it.

>>59242561
Ahhh my precious vehicles though. Damn though they do make up a third of the expenses.
>>
>>59242328
>$100 phone and internet
>$400 'fun'
>$500 car payment
Obvious things to bring down. The real crime is the RE tax, what absolute serfdom.
>>
>>59242328
Why the fuck is your property tax 700/mo, and what is "fun"? Why do you have a car payment when you own your home?
>>
>>59242583
Of the ~half a dozen people I've known who owned a motorcycle, one's dead, one's right arm is paralyzed and atrophied, and one's wife made him give it up when they adopted a kid. Think of it as an emotional down payment on not ending up in a full-body cast.

I'd strongly recommend the thread starter get a vehicle as well.

Thread starter, go to your nearest BMW dealer and test drive the BMW Z4/Mazda Miata. See if you can sell your bike and trade out for a CarGurus used convertible. Not related to financial advice but motorcycles are simply not safe. Period.

My best friend died on one and it's not really the same anymore and I hardly ride now, I can't bring myself to get rid of it though. It still puts a fuckhuge smile on my face when I take it out and it pulled me out of a deep depression when I was younger.
>>
>>59243069
Don't bother, convertibles are nothing like a bike.

If you're that worried ride offroad.
>>
>>59242328
You don't factor "fun" into a monthly expense report, and pay off the car or sell it if you don't want $500 going to Mr. Coinstein's dealership every month. That alone already takes care of a third of the cost. It also seems like you're paying a lot for insurance, shop around for other quotes.

Rent a bike to use on a closed course on special occasions. Having one in your garage it too tempting. Get like a little model bike that's the same as the one you used to own.
