What's this place all about? What got you here? Is it benefiting you? Just a curious newbie and want to hear people yap about it so I can learn more.

Used to be a place of fun times and occasional wisdom. Now its a shithole.
>>
It's a containment board that was made to get cryptocurrency discussion off of /g/. We're all here because the economy is fucked and we know investment is the only hail mary that'll keep most of us from dying in poverty. Welcome to 2024.

>feeding
>not actually giving the the resources to feed themselves indefinitely
See this is what's wrong with these commies. They want others to spend money for them instead of finding ways to self sustain.

As much of 4chan is. What were the glory days like for you, anon?

Yeah, that sounds about right from what I'm seeing. Do you have a portfolio? How's that working for you? I'm in finance for a job currently and have been thinking on learning more about it. I also want to invest myself but no where to start and I don't move like an idiot so I'm gonna just learn for a while .

Neener it's all the same. Everyone is evil. What new

Nothing, nobody, no. Now go away.

I wouldn't take me as a representative example. I'm a severely medically fucked up NEET that managed to hold a job for a few years and threw everything I could into various speculative investments, digital and otherwise. My portfolio is mostly crypto by dollar value and I've also got some foreign currency that might revalue.

As for how it's working out? Not great. But I had to try something, and I went for options that I think will pan out in the longest term, so it's really too early to tell conclusively. How this upcoming American administration shakes out will likely have a huge impact on my financial future, but market sentiment seems to be improving at the prospect of another Trump term. So in spite of being in pitch black doomer depression, there's a mote of hope in there somewhere.

Oh, okay. Understandable. Only the strong survive

Holding out for you bud. Living with a disability is hard and you deserve to be able to live too. Hope neetlife is nice.

It hasn't been, but it helps to hear anyone, even anonymously, is rooting for me. Cheers, Anon. I wish you best of luck in learning finance stuff. The main thing I'd warn you about is that the board is absolutely full of shills for shitty crypto coins that aren't ever going to go anywhere. Some anons make a lot of money on swinging them but it's mostly down to luck or being a scammer with your own pump and dump coin. There's a reason this board is where the new post timer restrictions started.
>>
>>59248434
I could see that but thanks for the warning anyway. Makes the theory more concrete

Booba

I'm usually here just to complain about my financial problems, sometimes I get lucky and shut up with a Rocky pump, that's all

>Crypto more or less
>When it was created all the crypto threads from /g would get moved here
>It made me rich
So back in the day I was mainly a commodities trader. I liked it because it's fundamentally easy to understand and forecast. Ie, I know how about how many bbl of oil can be extracted a year, but I don't know how many superman toys will sell by christmas. Someone on a gold forum mentioned bitcoin has reached $1,000. I was like wow, 1 BTC = 1 oz gold. I should stop ignoring this. So I just monitored. By 2017 I was all in net worth. Nothing else made sense to own. Nothing else paid you more for the actual observed volatility. I made a bet that other implied risks (basically all external) were overestimated and that was that. Came here at some point because you couldn't post about it on other boards. It used to be pretty ok. Now it's pretty bad. Mostly everyone with the competence to effortpost has left or stopped trying, which is really fine, because btc has been pretty well figured out.
