If Microsoft starts to buy Bitcoin then it's only a matter of time before Apple and Google start to not only buy it but also support it.
Of all the tech giants Apple would be the company best positioned to profit from Bitcoin.
they have 200 billion dollars in cash reserves they can use to buy Bitcoin.
They could easily create the most user friendly and secure wallet. using T2 chip and Face ID and other features. They could create face-id supported multi-sig wallets for example.
They could support buying and selling BTC within the wallet and accumulate BTC for themselves charging a small fee. It's like free BTC.
They could support payments in bitcoin for the App Store and Apple Store(accumulating even more)
They could design mining hardware and mine it and sell it to miners

imagine a multi-sig face-id wallet where you can sign transactions after establishing a secure FaceTime video call with 3 people and it securely checks all 3 people's Face ID or 2 out of 3.

This would kill apple cash though. And apple will be wary of anything for which they can't easily control the customer experience. Things like, variable transfer fees, variable block time, irreversible transfers, all put them in a spot where they can't suck the customer off which is very un apple.

astute observation.
maybe they would be motivated to do it for the retention value? if you have you bitcoin in your apple wallet it creates some friction to move to another phone I guess. Also 40-50% of gen z use iPhones and they will all have bitcoin and other crypto.

Apple needs to get ahead of this. like now.

If msft starts buying Bitcoin, this is literally the ultimate legitimizing event. It is bigger than US creating an actual BTC reserve, it makes the ETF's literally a non-event by comparison.

also apple could run lightning nodes and provide every iPhone user with super fast and near free and anonymous transactions and they could definitely make a ton of bitcoin charging a fee. It would be an insane return on ROI to dedicate a team to support this and once its up just collect bitcoin

>Apple has 200 billion dollars in cash reserves
Steve Jobs died over 13 years ago
Where does this bullshit even come from?
