The race gang politics is a California/Texas/Arizona thing, where if you're white you're basically forced to join some variation of the Aryan Brotherhood. But every prison is different. Going to prison in Alabama - you'll probably just end up getting raped and extorted by black inmates on a regular basis. If you go to prison in New Hampshire or Vermont you'll be hanging out and playing cards and reading books all day, occasionally making license plates.
