I've earned around 1.2m this year, problem is I've earned a large chunk of it gambling on crypto casinos. Gamblng, and especially gambling on offshore casinos is not legal where I live.

If I just report capital gains and don't include any documentation, will the IRS likely look into it? If so, what should I do?

They'll be happy that they get a cut. But with this amount of money you should get an accountant specialized on crypto. What you absolutely shouldnt do is not declare it at all, if they find out about it you're screwed.

So you think they won't care I gambled in a place where it's not legal for me to gamble?

Yes as long as they get a cut.
You should see it from their perspective and thats why the safest route is to pay it as income taxes, biggest cut for your gain but also the most profitable for ((them))

If you got any rights in America, they shouldn't be able to take the money from you (apart from their cut). But you're also asking random anons on a mongolian basket weaving forum instead of professionals who have dealt with such cases before.

you cant be the first one to have that problem so google it or ask a local lawyer.
