I applied for a bunch of jobs a week ago and none of them have gotten back to me. Is this common or should I email them to ask for an update?

Just walk in and start working. If someone asks what you're doing tell them it's your first day and need to know where to start.

It's a waste of time applying anywhere other than directly via a hiring company's website. Any jobs on so-called job vacancy sites are all likely bullshit. Don't know if that applies in your case but solid advice anyway, Good luck anon.

What trade should I do? I've done IT work for about 10 years and thinking about throwing in the towel especially now that Indians are flooding the market.

>hundreds of applicants
>one opening
yea this system isn't well designed

According to my LinkedIn feed, nobody can get a job right now. I see sob stories daily about people with 5, 10, 20 years of experience and they share how they've been on the job market for months or years, have applied to hundreds or thousands of jobs and can't even get initial interviews, much less offers. People claim to be on the verge of losing their house, family, etc. and it seems to take a huge mental toll on many in that position. Countless tales of such misery. I read and scroll past, thankful that I have my shitty job to make ends meet while waiting for my crypto bags to moon. Chin up, anon. You'll get something by 2030.

I've never heard of this working unless it's some kind of casual setting like a small restaurant.

>>59605330
Kind of agree. Indeed seems like it's bloated with fake jobs.
LinkedIn seems like the companies are casting too wide of a net for the candidates to really have a shot.

Lol. I applied for literally 500 jobs. Got a response from maybe 20%, and most of them took longer than a week to respond, and most of them were rejections. I got 2 offers out of 500.

>500 jobs
Must be nice to live in a country with so many jobs available
Skilled jobs in EU? Maybe one real and good position weekly.

If you're attractive, put your picture on the resume. Get HR Stacey to notice you

I quit going to work after I realized 90% of the time I'm just wasting my time doing pointless shit nobody cares about and not getting ahead in life.
I worked there a lot over the past 12 years and the wagie community was a major factor in my decision to not work anymore. NEETs did it to an extent as well but WAGIES are far worse.
Someone could give a long drawn out and factually accurate explanation of what would have to happen for me to even be able to one day buy a home and have a family and why working was fraudulent. The post would get a dozen responses of
>WHY SHOULD YOU EAT?
>when you know you know
>economic collapse is coming
>stack metals the end is nigh
>keep waging faggot
>100% eoy silver will reach 5k an ounce
Or some equally long schizo post explaining numerology, using bible scripture and random posts here explaining how by the end of the year billions will be unemployed because of the AI.
Here we are.
After seeing the nothingburger today I came here just to watch the seething and suicide letters. It’s beyond EOY, the jobs didn't disappear, the banks didn't collapse (unfortunately), no more use cases and all the dirty laundry is out in the air now.
It’s not going to be Millennial's Economic Paradise, it will not be the Roaring 20's all over again. The world will not be descending into hyper deflation and prosperity (as was obsessed over for months/years) it will be going on as usual with no major gains or rewards.
I will enjoy watching wagies burn every step along the way.
Why?
Because those fucking idiots deserve it all.

I'm in the EU, that's how I could apply for so many jobs. I just checked my records and it was actually closer to 1000 job applications, lol. I applied literally all over the EU (+UK, Switzerland). I got 0 zero interviews from my home city and 0 offers from my home country despite applying for anything remotely relevant that was available. Even though companies prefer to hire local people I was able to find a job abroad just through the sheer number of applications.

>I applied for a bunch of jobs a week ago and none of them have gotten back to me.
I've sent out 77 applications this year so far and gotten more interviews already than last year in total
>should I email them to ask for an update?
if you feel like they had a spot specifically made for you, you should ask if they're having technical difficulties, if necessary all the way up to the CEO
