How do I wriggle myself out of this one?eBay just sent me a notice that I've made too much sales (2000 euros this year) and because of that:>"EU DAC7 tax directive/Platform Tax Transparency Act now requires marketplaces to request and report your Finnish Social Security number to the tax authorities, if you have one."I'm totally not going to pay 40% tax for selling used household items, and I'm not going to waste time proving that I didnt actually make profit. But right now I have 2k in eBay holdings and I'm guessing they wont release my funds until I've doxxed my tax information.Fuck I hate the EU. Everything is regulated and banned.
eBay is required to follow the EU tax regulations. If you're selling personal items and not operating a business, you might not owe taxes, but you should check Finland’s specific rules on personal sales. Ignoring the request for tax information will likely result in eBay holding your funds. It’s advisable to consult a tax professional to understand your obligations and avoid potential issues.
>>59607039You have no idea how much this sucks ass. I really, really dont have the time or the energy to become a lawyer. I'm just a student trying to make ends meet.>Ignoring the request for tax information will likely result in eBay holding your fundsSo they'll just steal my money unti l greenlight them to let government steal my money.Sigh.I miss cash sales so much.
Rreeee they always bringing the little guy down
>>59607033learn the hard way. don't use ebay, use local alternatives, don't use legacy financial instruments, demand use of xmr or btc. if anyhow possible, ask for cash only. take it with a pinch of victoria nuland if you catch my drift.
>>59607033>Everything is regulated and banned.Wait till the start regulating crypto. People will start getting messages saying "You have converted 'this much' BTC to Euro this year, we are reporting you to the Tax Authority so your VAT can be assessed"
>>59607301What I get for my item on local site: 200 eurosWhat I get overseas: 2000 eurosI live in Finland and there's no money here. No money at all.
>>59607309Yeah that's probably gonna happen too. Crypto is like my last safe heaven.
>>59607039What if I give my latest buyer a partial refund so my sales for this month go just below the 2000-euro limit where I'm supposed to report my tax information to eBay?Or are they still gonna go IRS on my ass because "the flag has already been triggered"?Technically I havent received 2k of profit yet.
>>59607315Lol you should definitely get taxed then. At first I was on your side until I found out you're selling them overseas. Kek you definitely deserve to get taxed retard lmfao
>>59607466What makes it so different?I'm not enjoying teh situation, but you dont seem to grasp the realities. If I put something for sale, the buyers is always from America. Every goddamn fucking time. Nobody in Europe let alone Finland wants to buy from me. Why? You know the answer. The europoor meme stems from the very reality that Americans are ten times richer than Europeans.
OP here, I cancelled my biggest order on eBay so my profits are now under the margin. But, eBay is still demanding my tax information even though I no longer need to do so.Fuck! And they said my other payments are on hold tooThis is not legal.
