Just a reminder, it's a 50% chance.

There’s a 2/3rds chance though that the first gold ball you picked was in the two balls box.
I lost $200 then doubled down with $300if I just deposit another $500 and hit a 2x I can get all my money backI'm due
>>59613052The question isn't about that, so 2/3 is irrelevant. If you want to answer 2/3 due to what you're thinking, then you're answering a question that wasn't asked.
>>59613113But the box you take the second ball from doesn’t change, so your chance picking the second ball is the same chance as picking the first ball.
>>59613113>you pick a box at randomgottem
>>59613171>>59613179Man, we need AI jannies to clean up these jeets.
>>59613142You're still thinking in terms of "three boxes" which is the trap people fall into. The question isn't about three boxes. That's what trips people up; they're baited into thinking about a third box and stuff that happened before the question is asked. In the actual conditions for the question there are only two boxes.
>>59613175No, the ball is picked at random from the inside of a box. The box isn't chosen at random.
>>59613227Actually choice is an illusion and the box you get is the one you're destined to receive.
>>59613252What if I'm inside the box?
>>59613044Leave it to /biz/ to somehow apply Gambler's Fallacy into the Monty Hall problem. This is why most of you will never make it. YOU CAN'T DO BASIC AND I MEAN BASIC FUCKING MATH. This isn't "bait" there are actual literal and figurative fucking retards here that make me look like a glowing beacon of knowledge which is a problem. I should not be the smartest person in the room I am retarded.
>>596130442/3rdsYou're twice as likely to have pulled the gold ball from the 2 gold ball box than the 1 gold 1 silver.
>>59613437>failed the reading comprehension testNotice you already have the gold ball. Notice also you're dealing with 2 boxes. The only way to get 2/3rds is to involve a 3rd box. Pay attention to what's being asked and what the situation is.
>>59613213Yes there’s only 2 boxes, and 2/3 of the gold balls are in 1 box. Hence 2/3 chance if you pull a gold ball that the others gold too.
>>59613227The box IS also chosen at random! But neither that randomness of the box selection NOR the randomness of the selection of the ball matters. The only thing that matters is you're holding a gold ball in your hand, so therefore the silver-only box is out of the equation.
You have in your possession a gold ball. The question is "What's the probability next ball is gold?"As there are two boxes it ultimately comes down to 50-50 probability you're in either box, hence a 50-50 probability of the next ball being gold or silver. You've eliminated one gold ball. So regardless which box it is you have, you know there can't be two gold balls in it. Meaning if it was the goldsilver box you took from there's 1 silver left, and if you took from the goldgold box there's one gold left. That there's initially more gold in one of them doesn't mean anything as there's an equal chance of you being in either box as there are two boxes (box silversilver is discarded) and there's no reason to think it was more likely you chose one box over the other (it was randomized, as was the taking of the balls).
>>59613044It's 2/3 because you forgot to factor in combinations.
