attempted to show the public how systemic price gouging happens in healthcare, only to have the media turn on him as the one and only villain to attempt to profit off of people's sickness by overcharging, thus solving the problem forever.

Yes, Martin Shkreli has been widely criticized for unethical behavior in several instances. Here are some notable examples:

Price Gouging on Daraprim
Shkreli gained infamy as the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals when he raised the price of Daraprim, a life-saving drug used to treat parasitic infections, by over 5,000%—from $13.50 per pill to $750 per pill. This move was widely condemned for exploiting patients who depended on the drug, many of whom were already vulnerable.
>>
>>59619141
Anticompetitive Practices
Shkreli was accused of creating barriers to prevent generic competition for Daraprim. He restricted access to the drug, making it harder for other companies to develop cheaper alternatives. This tactic was considered anticompetitive and harmful to public health.
>>
>>59619144
Securities Fraud
In 2017, Shkreli was convicted of securities fraud for misleading investors in hedge funds he managed. He lied about the performance of his funds, lost significant amounts of money, and then used assets from another company he ran to pay back investors. While his criminal activities weren't related to the drug pricing scandal, they further tarnished his reputation.
>>
>>59619149
While Shkreli claimed that the price hike on Daraprim was necessary for funding research and development, critics noted that no significant advancements resulted from the price increase. His actions were seen as emblematic of greed and exploitation in the pharmaceutical industry. He has since been barred from holding positions in the pharmaceutical sector.

He's right on his refusal for cheap AI slop.
He's wrong on the latter part. We're much dumber than SOTA AI already.
But learn to use AI right first if you want to pretend like you're contributing something of value.
>>
>>59619231
>We're much dumber than SOTA AI already
sure in an academic sense. AI can never achieve absolute spiritual enlightenment. that's rare for humans too but I have met humans like that here

> I have met humans like that here
That's unfortunately unknowable. You have met humans that posted messages that made you believe they had reached enlightenment.
What used to be a trivial distinction without meaning is now at the core of how we reason about AI capabilities.
Our willing to ascribe meaningful inner states to humans is only rivaled by our instinct to deny those very states to AI, perhaps because we can see how the magic trick is done more readily with silicon than with meat, which kinda ruins the whole effect.

3 retards attacking the source of the information rather than the substance. I thought geniuses would easily dunk on AI slop by now, but I guess it isn't that easy. Lol.

It took you no effort to generate all your very substantial points, and all they deserve is to be pasted into another prompt for an LLM to dismantle them.
I will not be bothered, but if you're so anxious, you can do this yourself, and have hours of fun with your LLMs building and taking down increasingly amazing points, up to and until you need a change of underwear.

all he did was operate rationally in the American system. He, like every other pharma company, jacks up the price and the customers insurance company pays for most of it, so the actual cost to the customer is far less. He also offered the pills for badically free to people who asked his company directly.
An example of the American system is the common antidepressant Wellbutrin XL made by GSK. It costs over $2000 for a months supply, but with insurance the typical patient pays under $50.
But the exact same bottle of 30 pills made by the same company can be bought over the counter in Cambodia for $30 without insurance.
Americans are getting screwed by the market system they have set up there, and pharma companies are simply working within the framework in a totally rational way. Cambodia doesnt use the American system so they have to charge the local natural market rate, as opposed to the distorted american market rate. Blame the system/government, they make the rules that companies have operate by. Companies have a duty to shareholders to maximize returns. If they blatantly don't do this, even though the system is set up by the government to allow them, then they are basically failing in their legal duty and even defrauding investors and can be taken to court.
It's the governments fault at the end of the day, and you voted for it.
